    Excellent outlet/protector
    USB ports are on the face, but for normal electrical this is great for flattening cords against the wall for instance behind an entertainment center, plus the surge protection functions. Highly recommended.

    APC makes a very reliable product for surges
    I use these and APC Backups on all my valuable electronic items and appliances. I live in the mountains and we have our share of power outages 1-8 seconds almost once every 48 hrs. We have had close lighting strikes and nothing plunged into these has ever developed an electrical issue. Note: they must have a good earth ground to work. I am a retired IT manager and have had good experiences in business with this product line for over 25 years.

    this is a great value!
    This item has worked well for me, it is grounded and replaces an outlet with two plug receptors. The convenience of having the USB charges is also convenient. This surge protector is a good size to not get in the way. I recommend this surge protector to anyone needing a small amt of help

    Easy Protection
    After removing the outlet's faceplate, just plug the unit in and tighten the screw. It's a quick and easy way to protect your devices, in my case a kitchen LCD television. The hardest part about using this SurgeArrest is opening the plastic packaging! A bonus is the pair of USB charging ports. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

    A solid and well-constructed performer
    This is a review of the APC SurgeArrest Surge Protector, model number PE3WU3. The unit arrived in a bubble pack envelope sufficient to protect the product during shipping. Although there were major abrasions on the outside of the package, the product arrived in perfect condition. Unpacking the surge suppressor was straight forward. The instructions were well written. What's great is that the unit came with a mounting screw to anchor the surge suppressor to the center cover plate hole of a standard two-socket electrical outlet. This is a best practice that keeps the product firmly mounted through continued use. The product has three standard AC outlets arranged horizontally. This is particularly helpful when using "wall wart" power adaptors for devices that will typically cover adjacent outlets that are arranged vertically. The surge suppressor also sports two full-power 3.4 Amp USB ports. I tried a couple dozen devices and could not find anything that would not be powered or charged satisfactorily. The USB ports are intuitively positioned vertically, to the right and below the AC outlets. All of the outlets and USB ports were firm, well-fitting, and solid. This unit definitely comes across as well made. Finally, there is an green illuminated indicator on the top of the suppressor that indicates proper operation of the protection circuitry. And as usual with APC products, the unit comes with the APC $50,000 lifetime connected equipment protection policy. Overall this is an excellent product that does a basic job very well.

    Great Wall Outlet
    Great overall design. It has a sturdy plastic casing and a single 3 prong plug on the back. Once it's inserted into a wall outlet and secured with the center screw, it is quite stable as well. Six outlets with grounds and two USB ports...way more than I would expect from this type of product. The product dimensions are roughly 5.25" H x 4.75" L x 1.25" D. The geen light on top is a great feature that will always let you know when you're protected. Other than that, the plugs are nice and tight and the USB chargers work perfectly.
