Amazing midrange laptop
My husband works in I.T Software so I had him play Around with this and test it out, then let me know. He said below: * High quality fabric sleeve protecting the laptop in the box. * Tent generation i5 processor * Touchpad is nice and responsive * Just for clarification It is Not a touchscreen * Good midrange hardware. * The screen in nice and bright and not washed out. * The processor is pretty fast. * Apps open nice and quick. * Battery is iffy, you could prob get 3 hours of battery. * Keyboard is nice and responsive. It's a great midrange laptop. Just for clarification This is definitely not a gaming laptop. Works great for Schooling, work, typing papers and etc. I love how fast it Is opening apps.

Great affordable laptop
This laptop is above average standard at this price level. Its speed is really fast. However, its screen is acceptable but could be better. The power is not lasting very long approximately 4 hrs. The fan has some low frequency noise that I can barely hear. Overall, this is a good quality laptop.

    Great laptop for it's class
The Acer Aspire 3 is a good budget-friendly laptop that offers nice specs for the price. I also have an Acer Aspire 5 Slim laptop that I like a lot and this Aspire 3 has an identical body, except for the grey color instead of silver. Comparing the two, this laptop has a newer/faster cpu (10th gen Intel i5 vs AMD Ryzen 3 3200U) and twice the storage (256 GB SSD vs 128 GB). The performance increase provided by the better cpu in the Aspire 3 hasn't been noticeable for the applications that I use but it's nice to know it's there if needed. I do think the Aspire 3 has a less vibrant screen (slightly more washout and reduced viewing angles) than the Aspire 5 but it's perfectly acceptable nonetheless. I do miss the backlit keys of the Aspire 5 but can live without it considering the price. But just like the Aspire 5, the build quality, feel and performance of this Aspire 3 exceeded my expectations. Battery life is not the best but still within reason. Overall, I would definitely recommend this laptop for anyone that doesn't want to break the bank.

    Excellent Basic Laptop
I use this for managing household bills, online shopping, emails, virtual schooling, Zoom meetings, social media, and watching occasional movies & videos. These tasks and types of entertainment are handled with speed and ease. My favorite features are the BlueLight Shield (easy on the eyes!), SSD, and oddly enough, I really like that the power button is on the keyboard instead of the side edge of the laptop. The keyboard and touch pad are quick and responsive. I like how light and sleek it is. You can read the specs for yourself but a few quick things I feel are worth mentioning at a glance: There is no CD/DVD drive The screen is not a touch screen This is not a gaming computer The only fussy thing I notice with it is that the power cord on mine plugs into the laptop with some difficulty, I feel like I have to force it and I hope it doesn't break. For general household, home business, or student use, this is a great, fast laptop with all the features you may need! I am really happy with it. For someone looking for a laptop for general use I would not hesitate to recommend it.

Fast, Bright and Lightweight- Powerful & Portable
We LOVE this laptop! I'll try to cover as much as I can think of because this is an investment and like most devices these days, will be a big part of your daily life. It came very securely packaged, and includes a manual and power cords- and also a nice feature are the hard drive upgrade screws (the screws are called the HDD upgrade kit ) are also included if you want to upgrade (up to 2TB!) later. The Aspire 3 is very light, and slender- easy to put in a backpack or briefcase. It has a smooth texture- we've not had it long enough to see if it gets scratches, but it seems very well made and sturdy. We will be buying a case to keep it looking fine and fancy though! The keys are nice and have a good feel, and the full-size keys are comfortable for both my kids and my husband who has big 'man hands'. LOL. Although the keyboard doesn't light up, it's not an issue for me. The 15.6 HD screen is nice and bright, and images are crisp and colorful. It does have a narrow bezel so it seems like it's bigger than it is, and it looks impressive, and is a backlit LED. It has a 'blue light shield' with 4 settings, including a 'long hour mode' to help with eye strain if you're going to be on it all day. I tried it, and didn't really notice any lowered brightness so that's a feature I'll be using often! The webcam lights up when active. It was easy to set up, and runs Windows and has dual-band WiFi 5, and seems very quick and responsive. It's got nice ports also, for Ethernet, USB 3.1, HDMI and USB 2.0, and 3.5 headphone jack. It has a Kensington lock slot too, if you're in a coffee shop, library or airport- I've never used it but it's nice to know I could if I wanted to. (You'll need to buy the cable to go with that lock if you want to use it.). I like that it has an SSD drive, 256GB but you can expand that up to 2TB if you wish. (Two places for 1TB SSDs). THe processor is powerful and everything runs really smooth and fast. The Bluetooth works great, and it easily connected to my phone and our printer. The battery is ok too, it lasted about 6 hours of fairly consistent use... it does say in the specs that it can last up to 8 hours but I have not tested that. I have not noticed anything I would change about it- I am very happy with it! All in all- it was easy to set up, is perfect for school and work, it's light, fits great in a backpack, the display looks awesome, the keys are full-sized (yay) and have a nice feel... works perfectly! We are super happy with it- for all kinds of uses from my kids' schoolwork to household and business uses. Quick and bright, lean and light! :)

    Good Budget Laptop
Setup was easy. I had the option of listening to Cortana or muting Cortana. I chose to listen to Cortana. Captions are displayed while listening to Cortana during setup. The display is clear. The colors are vivid. The sound quality is acceptable for my purposes. This is not a gaming laptop, it is a very good basic laptop. One thing that I don't like about the laptop is that the keyboard isn't backlit. If you need a good budget laptop, I recommend the laptop for this review --- Acer Aspire A315-56, Intel Core i5-1034G1, 250G Kingston PCIe NVMe SSD, 8 GB RAM.

    Acer Aspire Laptop, Love it!
This laptop is great. Very easy to use and the entire set-up was so simple, thanks to Cortana! She will guide you each step of the way. The size of the laptop fits perfectly in my briefcase, its light weight, perfect for traveling. The picture display is crisp and clear. I'm happy with the overall functionality with this laptop, my children are able to use it to without any problems.

    Great laptop with phenomenal display
Great, all purpose laptop. We are using it mainly for virtual school and a few games— so far, so good. It's the perfect size, seems durable, has a beautiful display and a great webcam. It's slim design makes it light and easy to carry, not clunky like some. It arrived packaged very well and the set up instructions made it a breeze to get started. It connects easily to our WiFi and the battery life is good, about 8 hours of continuous use. The keyboard is comfortable and the touchpad responsive. I would definitely consider this laptop.

    Bang for the buck!
Set up was easy, but I won't focus on windows 10 operating system as that will be the same regardless of computer. The OS and pre-loaded software/bloatware, some of which require separate purchase take up 32 GB and leave you with 206gb free space at first boot-up. It comes with a pack of screws for an HDD upgrade with a link on the pack for info, however the model is not yet listed on the page that links to. Boot up is fast, about 10 seconds. No trouble connecting to dual band WiFi. I ran a WiFi speed test while others in the house were streaming Netflix and had no trouble getting 201.81 Mbps. download and 82.07 Mbps. upload. So if you have it, high speed WiFi isn't going to be wasted. Video and audio work well with video conferencing, I tested with Skype. Nice sharp picture from the camera. There is no privacy lens cover for the built in camera. Able to cope with multiple programs running simultaneously and programs are quick to start. Graphics cope with basic video games like minecraft and HD video streaming looks great. It comes with a nice easy to use video editor called "power director" which is a good easy to use program if you used the now discontinued windows movie maker in the past. It has chroma key as an added bonus, so if you are into special effect greenscreen work... Works well with pen tablet. My daughter has an xp-pen drawing tablet and it is fully compatible with no processing power issues. HDMI slot so can be plugged into a big screen TV if desired No issues connecting it to WiFi printer. Battery life before recharging obviously depends on usage, but we ran it for several hours testing with stuff plugged into the USBs and running lots of programs without needing to plug in the charger. Be warned (as written on the box) the battery is not easily replaced by user. It's not a case of sliding a latch to release the battery, the case would need to be opened. The shell has a cheap plastic feel about it and unless you wear gloves it REALLY shows fingerprints wherever it is touched even with washed hands. Case material and potential future battery replacement difficulty aside, overall a good budget laptop. Lots of bang for the buck. Great for if you are keeping your student home for online schooling this year or even if they are attending and need tech. Pros - fast, lots of bang for the buck. Cons - Case is VERY plasticky and should you need to replace the battery it requires disassembling work.

    Laptop fits my needs!
This Acer Aspire 3 laptop is simply amazing! Set up was a breeze with the help of Cortana. It was lightning fast at connecting to my WiFi and loads apps and webpages super quick! It has a 15.6" screen, 8 GB of ram and even has a webcam! It's very lightweight and thin. Stylish and sleek looking. It's easy to see the quality of this laptop just by looking at it. The battery charges quickly and if in battery saver mode (which is where I keep mine most of the time) it will last for hours if not days depending on how long I'm on it. A couple things to note are first; its not a touchscreen, which doesn't bother me at all and secondly it doesn't have a disc player. Also doesn't bother me bc most things are streamed nowadays. If you are a serious gamer this probably isn't the laptop for you. It has plenty of ports and a headphones jack. The volume on this laptop is a little disappointing but not a deal breaker. Although it's very fast it still has its limitations. Processor specs are Intel Core i5-1035G1 CPU @1.00 GHz. System type: 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor. Windows 10 Home.
