This spreader does its job
Really pleased. Spreader was easy to assemble by myself. Good instructions and all parts were included. Hopper holds a full 50# bag of grass seed. It works well.

Had to drill hole for the lever to attach
The hole wasn't punched through on one side of the shaft so the lever wouldn't attach. I had to drill the hole to make it work. That should have been caught in quality control.

    Agri-Fab, Inc. 130 lb. Broadcast Tow Behind Spread
    It came fast and was fairly easy to put together by myself . Being a 60 year old lady lol. I would say it took me about a hour to get it all put together. Haven't used it yet but looks like it will do the trick spreading Lime on our ground. Easy to move around and doesn't take up alot of room. Very happy with this spreader .

    130 lbs agri-fab
    Used it to seed 4 acres if pasture grass. Worked well and was fairly easy to put together. Handle could be closer to operator and I am glad I checked gearbox for grease. Very little grease in gearbox. Have not used for fertilizer. Could be true test.

    Unit assembled fine. But spread pattern is fairly small...for the size spreader it doesn't seem to have much of a pattern. I have used with lawn fertilizer and seed. Fertilizer was better than seed...but just a small pattern.

    Deflector Installation
    I like the design of the 130 lb tow behind spreader and the enclosed gearbox, but I didn't want the fertilizer or grass seeds all over my zero turn mower. The deflector is designed to be used on the push spreader, and it is supposed to work on the tow spreader too. But for it to fit correctly, it must be installed on the flow control rod side. I drilled a 5/8” hole 2 inches from the top and in the middle of the deflector.

    Good features, good price
    I purchased this spreader because it was the best deal for the quality I wanted. Was easy to assemble and was better than expected. I used it for first time today and worked very well. Completed spreading for 35000 sq ft in less than one hour start to clean up. I did modify the unit slightly by tapping (3/8-16) the Top of spreader blade shaft and added a wing nut to help move fertilizer to drop shut. It worked well as you can see by amount of product left in hopper when done. Thanks for making a good product.

    Stand the test of time?
    Searched a long time for a suitable spreader. Have about an acre to maintain. Need a wide stance spreader to avoid tip-overs on side hills, controls that are close to the hitch point and reasonable capacity. This spreader fills the bill. I like the enclosed gear set. One other reviewer indicated that the spreader does "lean" forward to a degree which prevents it from emptying completely ... I agree. Draw bar needs to be bent/reconfigured to facilitate a more level spreader. I did a minor modification to the control handle (see photos). I have an extended reach hitch plate on my tractor (part of a brief-case weight & bracket kit) which makes a long reach back to the control handle. My "fix" seems to work well.
