Great features
One of the best garden tractor tow behind features I have. After watching some Plug aerator videos some people use a bungee cord to hold the lift handle in place when using the wheels to transport. The engineers did a great job in designing this equipment. Maybe some people skip reading the last part of the assembly instructions, steps for proper tightening of the tray. I found if you don't stand on the side the aerator and push against it with the lift handle in the transport position the handle won't have the pressure it needs to stay in the notch. If you have assembled the aerator incorrectly all you need to do is loosen the tray bolts, put the handle in the notch (wheel transport) position push against the tray on the side of the notch and then tighten the bolts. Hope this helps. Before I purchased the aerator I had plans to design a wedge to hold the lift handle in place, maybe making the notch larger or longer. I watched the videos with the bungee cords on the lift handle and thought there must be a better way. Best to read ALL the
instructions.

Poor quality control
I received this as a Christmas present and I finally got around to assembling this and using it. The assembly was pretty straight forward and took about 30 minutes. The instructions were decent and pictures were helpful. I attached this to my ATV and began to use it.
I first added two cinder blocks and quickly realized that I need more weigh to pull a deeper plug. I then added two rocks to the tray and strapped everything down with a ratchet strap. I estimate approximately 100 lbs. of weight total. I began making passes up and down my yard and the aerator was working decently. After about 10 minutes I noticed that instead of pulling clean plugs it looked like the tines were ripping the lawn. I got off the ATV to inspect the aerator and discovered that one of the pieces that the tines were attached to had broken the weld free from the tube it was mounted to. Upon closer inspection it was evident that there was little to no penetration from the welds as the break was clean right on the weld/tube line. Either the surfaces were not properly prepped before welding or the welder just didn't have the weld hot enough to burn in and penetrate.
Luckily I have a small welder for occasions just like this. It would have been easy and quick to just weld it back together right on the machine. The problem is that each one of those assemblies that hold the tines are supported on the main rod by plastic bushings. If you tried to weld it still assembled then the bushings would melt, so I had to disassemble the aerator to fix it. Hopefully with these repairs made the unit will be fit to use without having to repair it again. I can already see a potential problem with the tongue of the machine. It is a "U" shaped stamped piece of steel. I would have rather seen a fabricated piece of tubular steel, but then again the price would likely be more.

4.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser02/22/2023Nice unit and excellent customer serviceThe aerator arrived promptly and in good shape. There was a single bolt missing (5/16" X 1" carriage bolt), but Agri-Fab sent a replacement immediately after I reported the omission. In fact, they sent 4 replacement bolts. Customer service was very polite and accommodating.Don B

4.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser02/19/2023ROCKY CLAY CRAP SE TENNESSEE "SOIL"Assembly instructions were confusing in some sections, but got it assembled in about 2 hrs total. NOTE - MAKE SURE to wear good gloves when assembling; nearly cut off a finger after a wrench-slip landed a hand on one of the sharpened rotor blades. THEY ARE RIDICULOUS-SHARP. My soil (and I use that term lightly) is more rock than clay and resembles concrete when totally dry. I wanted until a day after a soaking rain and ran the machine with a total of four 4" cap blocks WITH GREAT RESULTS. I didn't figure the machine would do anywhere near as good as it did. All-in, I did around 12,000 ft2 in about 2hrs with no issues. Sewed in TTTF, milorganite and topped with peat moss. Will water-in tomorrow and keep fingers crossedDiverdown8841

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser11/26/2022Love the DesignI really like the design of my new AgriFab plugger--much better than the 20 year old one it replaced. Sharp tines, one axle w elements and spacers, very simple and strong. Assembly was straight forward although the instructions were a bit fuzzy at times--I installed the axle assembly backwards at one point while following instructions (??? my problem?) The frame just fits cinder blocks, all good. The only hard part was the attaching of the frame to the axle assembly--and they tell you how to do that. In the end, the slot on the handle and the center brace were a bit off, not perfectly aligned, but close enough to tighten and finish. Plugs great! Love it. I'm not a clutz with wrenches but not a mechanic--four hours to complete assembly going slowly.Jajisee in VA

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser05/14/2022Useful farm equipment!I wish with every equipment you sell to people you could post step by step procedure how to assemble them on your web site. It took me three days to complete it. It should not take more than1-2 hours for completion. The written instruction is not clear and looks like 3rd grader wrote it!Every homeowner should ha

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser10/05/2020Worked well so far, good valueSo far this aerator has worked as expected. I have done two large properties so far carrying a few cinder blocks (1 after running sprinklers and one after a good rain). The yard that had rain pulled 2 inch plugs, so it works better after a good rain as some have noted before. The assembly took some time and requires reading of instructions and careful use of parts. My leg and hands can attest to the sharpness of the knives out of the box. I am excited to use it again in the spring. If it holds up a couple seasons I will have gotten my money out of it versus renting and it seems that replacement parts are easy enough to acquire.Kevin N

4.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser11/03/2019New Yard "Hard Red Clay"Better than advertised, did meet my expectations. Assembly took longer than expected but very well worth the time. I used before I over-seeded my yard, great results. Have used since then to help neighbors seed their yards as well. - RCPRodney
