Not worth it
This is not the correct adapter for iPhones. This one requires too many other parts to connect. Have to return. Went to Best Buy and purchased the correct one that you just plug into your HDMI and phone. Easy Breezy.

    BIG warning to buyers, this blacks out DRM protected videos, like Google movies, Netflix etc, but plays free regular videos, like Youtube. That’s fine with what I watch, but you’ll be disappointed if you wanted to play mainstream movies you pay for from apps. I got it for streaming in a truck, wanted to connect with truck audio via bluetooth and stream to TV, does job great. Design is idiotic, should have two female lightning adapters, so I can control it from my phone connected with lightning cable from bunk. Instead, I’m holding phone connected to dongle with clumsy VGA cable and lightning charge cable attached, and cant find female male lightning extender on Internet.

    This item was advertised to be brand-new and in its original packaging. Instead, the component arrived with the manufacturerer's seal broken — and from the visual abrasive scratches on the plastic casing, the item appeared to be undeniably in USED condition. Seller offered an embarrassingly meager amount of compensation to accept its USED item and at present I am still waiting for a pre-paid shipping label to return this product.

    With the adaptor I can now anything from my iPhone to my tv... needed to use another cable for audio. The adaptor got here in time with no trouble at all.

    Easy to Use
    It was easy to hookup and use. Easier to use than hooking up a laptop to a projector. My only suggestion would be to make the cord a little longer. It works great as long as you are working right next to the projector.
