The Brother black ink seems to work as well as expected. I feel it lasts as long as any other brand name printer ink that I have used in the past.

Disappointed in this cartridge
I was disappointed that it arrived and wasn't full. There was a small amount missing. I know my 1 page couldn't have used up that much toner so quickly.

    Buy genuine ink cartridge
    this is a genuine Brother cartridge; replaced one out of ink so I expect it to be as good as the last one; I've learned in the past the off-brands don't last as long
