Man Bun Ken shops at Whole Foods
Man Bun Ken..buahaha! Best purchase of 2018! I am claiming that I purchased it for my girls...but....I bought it for myself :) I'm going to have to buy him a little messenger bag and maybe a bongo drum. Those claiming to be annoyed or disappointed by the style of this doll are missing the point. Toys are supposed to be..fun and/or funny- and for me, he is definitely those 2 things. Sign-o-the-times. Hilarious. The fact that we reside in AZ and he has a cactus shirt is definitely a bonus. I hope they come out with a Yoga Ken next!

2.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser07/02/2020Good Idea; But Needs Better DesignPros: I like the basic idea of a slimmer, shorter Ken. As such, he works well as a younger brother to standard Ken (or teenage son for more vintage/broad-body Kens); a bf for the petite Barbie dolls; or older brother to teenage Skipper. The cactus-print shirt is also a nice fashion statement. Cons: What's up with Mattel's fascination with this silly-looking "man-bun" on a lot of their newer dolls? At first I thought maybe it could be removed and then painted over the "bald spot," in order to match the molded-on hair color. But you can't do that, either; because it's hollow, and will leave a hole in the back of Ken's head. :( (I didn't attempt it--just verified by temporarily (carefully) removing and replacing the head). The top of the body sculpt (head, neck, arms) are a bit too proportionately large for the lower torso and legs. His clothing could be a bit larger, especially the pants. The velcro closure both restricts movement and almost always splits open whenever the dolls are placed in a seated position, because Mattel too often designs and assembles them with no wearing ease. And speaking of sitting, why can't the overwhelming majority of these Ken dolls take a rest on a Barbie-sized 1/6-scale chair or sofa without looking awkward? Nothing but the standard 5-points (shoulders, neck, hips) of articulation--AGAIN. As an adult collector (who does more than just display MIB), I would be willing to pay up to about twice as much (or more) for a more versatile, Made-to-Move version of slim-style Ken Fashionista; and I think most slightly-older kids (about age 7-8 ) and teen collectors would appreciate them (if given the option) as well.ncshopper87

1.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser11/27/2018Seriously?!And on this note my household is done with Barbie. Yup, call me old fashioned, but I'm really sick of snowflake femboys, and having it rammed down our throats.Mitch

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser04/02/2018A Short Ken! Super excited!I am so excited tat this doll is on the shorter side! I like that Mattel is increasing the range of body types and skin tones. The petite size was a pleasant surprise. I didn't realize he was a little shorter than regular Ken until I stood them next to each other. Love it! I do wish his neck was a little slimmer to to keep with the proportions, but I understand that it's easier to manufacture dolls with a standard neck size than have to do different specs (that's why even the curvy barbies have tiny necks, too). This fellow has the same face sculpt as the Cool Blues Broad doll, which I like. It's a great sculpt! Friendly and approachable. I also like the paler skintone. Many of the regular Kens are kind of orange-tan, so his more natural skintone is a nice change of pace.sally_puppetdawg

4.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser03/31/2018Tasty!!!I wish I had this when I was younger. I've always had a certain affinity for "slim" lads. Them male models. This one is at least a 9/10. Would prefer a 10, however I appreciate this model. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]Sassykitten
