Used both bags
2 bags filled both of my flat big joes. In the picture you can see ours were practically flat. So it took the entire bag.

Whoever said this bean bag refill is not static is lying. It is extremely staticky - flies all over the place but the bean bag. The beans are extremely small as well, which means it will deflate quickly. It took 2 hours to clean up the mess, and I'm sure beans are still around the house somewhere. Save yourself time and buy better quality beans elsewhere. Now I learned my lesson - buy bigger beans (less time it will be deflated and easier/faster to pour and less staticky).

    This is a messy process, but it was kind of fun. As soon as the pellets come in contact with the air they start going all over the place. Definitely read the instructions first! The area to cut is wide and then the paper towel tube needs to be taped securely before picking up the bag. If you pick up the bag first the pellets will start to flow. After getting my tube secured I didn't lose so many. The same thing applies to opening the chair to fill. Make sure not to open the second zipper too wide, the pellets will start to flow. Most likely with the dry air of winter and the static energy in the air made the pellets more uncontrollable. However, the vacuum cleaner cleans up the mess easily. Maybe the manufacturer could redesign the bag to include a double opening with a plastic tube already sealed in the bag that just pulls out and then collapses with a ziplock type closer. And then another ziplock type closer to double seal it, preventing pellets oozing out while trying to reseal the bag with tape, when all the pellets weren't used.

    Works well
    Instead of throwing away the bean bag because it deflated, I just bought these and filled them right back up. Probably good for another year.

    I liked that you get two extra large bags of the filler but i didnt like how small the fillers were. They were a little messy as well. Overall it got the job done and filled our big joe bean bag chairs and we have some left.

    Only need 1 refill bag per beanbag. Trust me.
    I bought 2 sets of refills for my two kids' beanbags. I refilled both if them with a bag and a quarter. Oops. Oh well, I'll have plenty to refill them, again, when needed or have refill ready if we buy more beanbags. And a HUGE thank you to the person in the reviews who suggested taping a paper towel tube to a small opening of the refill bag. You saved me from a giant headache, and I will be forever grateful.

    It works really well to fill your big joe bean bag but definelty very messy Job the packaging could have a better way to dispense it in the bag but over all it works after you have to clean up all the beads that go everywhere while filling!(2 person job)
