Good so far. Easy set up using USB cord which I had on hand. Does not come with that cord. My use has been light, but will pick up later.

Disappointed
I had this printer almost 3 months for my nephew's homework. The machine is good, but bad news is my nephew's tell me must be replaced toner today. Why does this happen? He just prints less than 100 copies for his homework.

Set up was a breeze, from inserting the drum and toner package, adding the paper, powering up and connecting to wifi, downloading the driver package, and printing off my receipt from Walmart.com just to have handy with the packaging. Man alive, this is head and shoulders above the Epson Envy 5505 and the Canon imageCLASS MF3010 in regards to quality, speed, and value. We are a laser printer family from now on, that's for sure. As a homeschool family, printing dittos for the 3rd grader and book reports and tests for our 7th grader is a must. Double sided printing for the multiple page music scores we have for my wife's musical instruction business is a complete necessity. Oh, Brother, where art thou? Oh, you're here! I have always punched HP printers in the past but the reviews have not been as good as they used to be. Also while researching, I found the ink for the inkjet printers to be on the more expensive side. We do not print in color because it is more cost effective to have photos printed by other companies and just have them mailed to the house. So after comparing the cost of the printer, ink and functions of this laser printer to that of an inkjet printer with the same capabilities; this was a definite winner all the way around! Setup was simple, up and running in less 10 minutes! It prints fast and the quality is great for what we use it for at home. My husband does use it for work and it works great for him too. Just a quick note about some of the negative reviews I saw—my iPad had no problem finding the printer with no extra settings. You can change the double sided print feature right on the printer menu itself under the setting. I went in and connected the printer to the brother web server to allow automatic updates. I think that was it? I will never go back to an inkjet again!Karose1664

I have yet to read the on-line manual that I have downloaded but without doing so, it has been fairly easy to find my way to print and scan on this printer. I had just bought a complete set of ink cartridges for my almost new HP ink jet when the thing broke down, leaving me with new cartridges and no printer! I spent a few hours to make the dead printer work but to no avail. As someone said on-line, HP seems to need a complete redesign of their printer concepts, including lowering the rip-off prices on their inks.Exigent

It did not. I called Brother and explained. They refused to consider. Also, flawed instructions made it very difficult to find the online manual for my printer. There should be a current, printed user manual in the package.Harold

This is my 3rd printer --all 3 children have their own printer( 2 in College, one in school). One disadvantage: you must have USB printer cable. The cable just need for first time you set up your wifi connection. After first time use, you no longer need this USB printer cable. I ordered one USB cable from ebay for $2.99. Again, I have no complains about this product.AZDOC
