Greatly Disappointed
I bought this a few weeks ago...while fishing with it for the second time, i went to case and the handle flew off. I cannot find a replacement handle anywhere, and Academy- where i originally purchase from- does not have any replacements in stock. To send it in for warranty evaluation..pretty sure it'd cost the same as buying a new rod & rell

    Great Beginner Setup
    Bought this last year to give saltwater fishing a shot. I did not want to spend a lot of money on something I was not sure I'd like. Over 4 days of fishing its held up well with no issues. I've caught several different species, all from a canal, on it with no issues. I do not think I'd trust it for surf fishing or targeting anything over 10 lbs, a 22" 4lb red bend it nearly in half. Overall its a great beginner setup. Just don't rely only on the tackle provided and don't go after something huge.

    It makes fishing fun!
    This rod makes an excellent creek fishing rod; it's the same general size as a lot of ultralights and has WAY more backbone making it much easier to bring in the odd "big" fish. I've caught everything from tiny creekchubs up to 26 inch large mouth bass (got a master angler for that one) and every thing in between. It's become my go to rod because everything is fun to catch on it. Everything.
