A waste of money
Bought these so my elderly mother would be able to contact me in case of medical emergency during the night. They are ridiculously short-lifed battery hogs...have to change batteries about every 48-72 hours. And these are only turned on during the night, mind you. Unless you want to buy batteries in bulk, don't choose these. Have been relegated to collecting dust in the closet. Regret purchasing them, they are useless.

Thi sitem USED to come with rechargeable batteries
I've bought these before...they always came with installed RECHARGEABLE batteries and a charging cord in the past. Now, although they still have a *useless* USB charging port, they have no batteries! I didn't read the fine print because like I said, I was buying my THIRD SET. Very disappointed they now come with no batteries. The battery cover is VERY difficult to remove and it's tough to install the batteries under the belt clip. I haven't really had a chance to use them yet so I don't know what kind of battery life I'm going to get but I wish they would go back to installing the rechargeables. ;-(

    Cobra walkie talkies
I am not real pleased with these. It says "16 mile range", then when you GET the package, you see that the 16 miles is if you are way out in the country with nothing in the way! In the city you might get 5 miles, or big city; one mile. Well, my friend and I live less than a half mile apart, just a few apartment buildings in the way, and all we get is static. Now he is going to be moving, so it will be pretty much a straight shot to his apt. to mine, so we're hoping these will work then.... I'm keeping my fingers crossed, I might be returning these. I have a cheap cell phone I could use instead of throwing away $25.00 on something that I can't use.

    Needs improvement
Needs a better button for you to talk in to. And needs a adjustable clip.

Complete waste of time and money. JUNK!
Bought a set of these. They came with a USB charger and a set of six supposedly "rechargeable" batteries. This set charged exactly once. PERIOD. Wouldn't take a second charge. Never even really got a chance to use them other then to check channel compatibility with a decent set of Midlands. Took them back to Walmart and exchanged them. Second set took TWO charges. Discharged them once and recharged them. Now, after the first charge, the second charge: 1. Never said they were recharged. (The little battery icon just kept blinking after 48 hours) and 2. The fully charged battery icon never appeared. Third time trying to charge them: 72 hours into it. Charging icon is still blinking. Take them off the charger, unit is dead. When I was a kid I had toy walkie-talkies that worked better then these. Another red flag: These aren't even listed on the Cobra web-page. Bottom line: These MIGHT work with 3 AAA batteries., but they might not. (Haven't tried them with real batteries. Only the "rechargeable ones.") I'll try with regular batteries because I need them. If they don't work I won't even bother to return them. It isn't worth the hassle. Oh, and if you REALLY think you'd get 16 miles out of 3 AAA batteries you're naif. Walmart, you need to get these out of your product line-up. They are junk.

No charger. isn't that a charger in the pic?
This cable with the walkie talkie is misleading. This is just walkie talkies you add AAA batteries to

    No Range
16 miles? They barely worked at 16 FEET! I picked these up so that when my family takes trips with multiple cars we can stay in touch. They only occasionally worked from one parking space to the next... And they never worked once you got 100 feet away. They shouldn't be allowed to falsely advertise 16 miles when they know the range is 100 feet at best with line-of-sight...
