Water tight!
We only had the tent fully set up for about 15 minutes when along came a strong thunderstorm. We huddled temporarily in a neighbors RV as we watched the wind beat against the tent. It only swayed a very little bit. The true test was going to be whether or not it stayed dry inside and it definitely did. Not a drop of rain was inside the tent. It was easy to set up as promised. I will say though that unless you want to be elbow to elbow, this tent is really just comfortable to two people when you add in extra clothing and other "stuff" that needs to be inside the tent with you.

Nice Tent - leaks like crazy
I have the 6 person version of this tent and we really like the tent because it was one of the few tents without the mesh top. However, this tent leaks like crazy even with the rainfly on and a pop-up shade structure over it. The bathtub flooring that is design to keep water out works great for that purpose but also holds the water in when the tent leaks. Last campout we had 2 inches of rain water inside the tent. We have seal the seams twice which kind of help until the factory seal started falling off along with the tent material leaking all over.

    Great for the money! Weathered the storms.
    I've had my first Coleman Instant 4 person tent since 2016 and use it constantly. And I mean CONSTANTLY I am camping at minimum once a month typically every other weekend. The tent is actually still in perfect conditioned and very well seasoned at this point. The only point of failure has been the small plastic bits at the bottom of the tent rods with connect the tent rod to the loop used to hammer steaks into the ground. They include holes which make you think you should put the steak through it but DONT. I highly recommend only using the canvas loops to slam the steaks through. I believe the only reason this part broke on me is because I hammed my steaks through these holes in below freezing weather. I e-mailed Coleman support about this issue and they were extremely quick to reply with a very quality outcome. I sincerely appreciate this kind of support which has driven me to leave a review on a product I've been using monthly for 6 years now. It's not always about the product but a large part about the support and company that backs their products. I will continue to purchase many many coleman products because they get the job done and the few occasions they don't they an amazing support network to resolve any issue you're having.

    Easy Set up and so roomy!
    I love this tent. Been using it for a few years now. I actually picked it up at a garage sale! Using the rainfly and all tie outs, I have never had a problem with wind or weather.

    Smaller than expected.
    I purchased the adjustable comfort sleeping cot to use inside this 4-person tent; however the tent was too small! The cot was too long for the tent. I was very disappointed. This was my first time purchasing a tent, so I was not familiar with the fact that when the description says "4-person", it really means "2 people in sleeping bags". There is no way 4 people can sleep comfortably in a 4-man tent! Luckily, my grandson had a larger tent I used for the four-day weekend and my cot fit into his "8-man" tent. I gave my 4-man tent to my granddaughter. The tent was very easy to set up, though. My granddaughter and her guest enjoyed it all weekend with sleeping bags.

    Not for rainy weather
    The tent sets up quickly and the optional fly installs easily. The size is nice for limited camp pads you might encounter at parks. However, this tent leaks badly. Pools of water formed on the inside floor. The seams were sealed beforehand. and the optional fly was attached. To give the tent a second chance, we used a waterproofing spray over all surfaces (including the fly) but not the screens, the tent still leaked. I am very dissatisfied with this item. If used as a day tent at a track meet or soccer tournament, you could get some value out of it, but do not count on this product for variable camping conditions.

    Car camping with Coleman couldn't be better!
    We spent the summer doing a lot of short camping trips....so there was a lot of setting-up; taking-down; moving to the next park; coming home for a short while...leaving again and setting-up; taking down....all summer long. Our 4-person Instant Cabin made this whole experience completely hassle-free....we love this tent...and saw a lot of them wherever we went! With so much use and at such a very very reasonable price we were planning to just replace it next season if it got worn out with all its use....Thrilled to say...the tent is ready for lots more action next season. Thank you Coleman for such a high quality product at such a very reasonable price.

    Surprised !
    I was dubious about the claims for this tent but wanted to go camping and I wanted an easy tent I could set up by myself. I took the tent from the store to my backyard, read the directions, set up the tent, took it down and placed it back in the bag( the hardest part) all in under 10 min. I am thrilled!! Oh did I mention I am 76 yr old woman with arthritic hands ? Going camping this weekend.

    I've been a camper for decades (everything from minimalistic backpacking to hedonistic car camping) and this tent is the best I've owned for two person car camping. Most tent manufacturers overstate the occupancy of their tents. This tent is perfect for two adults. A child could be added and still have room to breathe. It's a snap to set up and at 5'11" I can stand up in the center by bowing my head a bit. It is very well made with solid zippers that make getting in and out easy. I haven't had it in the rain yet but after spraying both the tent roof and the optional rain fly I bought with Starbrite Waterproofing I have no doubt it will handle anything the Pacific Northwest can throw at it. The large windows on three sides are great for enjoying the view and airing out the tent. There's also a vent in the roof to minimize condensation. For the price this tent really doesn't have competition that I'm aware of.

    5 stars when used for intended purpose
    i gave this tent 5 stars but it fills a niche.for a couple car camping with unknown expected weather conditions there is no other tent like this.this tent has so many unique attributes!with the optional 150 denier 600mm fly this thing is almost bombproof.the 150denier body is unique,the 68 denier screens are heavier than most,the tubular telescopic 16mm&20mm steel frame is unique,because its single wall and completely closable it really should be considered a convertible,unbelievable heat retention!and at the same time in favorable weather conditions the best ventilation.good tent for scenic panoramas(with the exception of rear wall with no window).the first time i set this tent up i couldn't believe it took till now for someone to design this!less than 1 minute.it is heavy for this size tent but at 10 lbs. not extraordinarily so.i cant think of 1 con.love it.
