Why pay more for mediocrity
I did a personal taste test of 5 different sardines in olive oil and these were okay. For me, they were a little more mushy than most and maybe a little too much smoke or overcooked slightly? Not bad, but not as good to me as the King Oscar or the Bumble Bee. What surprised me the most was the cost of these compared to the "cross-packed" Crown Prince which the taste of both was exactly the same. For three times the price, I thought I was getting something really special. Basically got a 1/3 for my money for a mediocre sardine. Both come from Scotland so the only difference is probably the package and how they are layered which is really nothing. Both are small sardines. Started to give them a 2 star just because of the price discrepancy versus the quality.
