Absolutely awesome heater. Love the fan and light.
This thing kicks out a lot of heat. The fan really circulates the air in the fish house and in the garge while I was changing brake pads. If you point his heater in your direction and turn the fan on, you feel the extra heat from the fan blowing at you that you normally wouldn’t with just a radiant heater. I didn’t think the accessories would be that useful but after using this heater a while I absolutely love the fan, light and usb charging ports. Way more valuable than I first thought. Glad I bought this over the Big Buddy heater.

It doesn't stay lit
The pilot light blows out in even the calmest air. I bought this to use outside on our deck, or next to our hot tub, camping etc. It says nothing about this problem on the box. But there is a line in the manual “may experience nuisance shutoffs in certain wind conditions” This should be on the box, I wouldn't have bought it if I had known about this problem

2.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser01/18/2022It could have been really good, but noThe good... In an enclosed space, which is where it was first used, it was great. On high it really pumps out heat and on low the heater puts out very usable heat. The 36 hr run time has to be on the low setting; on the high setting it will be only a few hrs on 2 1# bottles The fan adds a lot to its capability to circulate heat around an area. The heater is built really well. The light is handy. This would have been a 4 or 5 star item if not for the bad. The bad... It is useless for outdoor use. The first time I used it outside I found that the slightest breeze will blow out the pilot light and that is the end of the heat. The designers should have known this was going to happen. They should also have known that there is no point to having a pilot light on this. A pilot light is only needed for things that are on a thermostat and need to relight automatically. No other portable infrared heater I have has a pilot light and they are very functional outdoors. The safety bulb could have been placed in front of the heating element as was done on my other heaters. On this heater, putting a pilot in the design was a major failure. Other disappointments are the flimsy doors for the tanks and the latches for the doors. I didn't get a chance to try the USB port chargers, but, needing to have the door open to use the charger leaves it vulnerable to be damaged. The latches are hard to use and flimsy like the rest of the door.Jonsk2514

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser12/17/2021Fantastic heaterWe bought this to get by when an ice storm knocked out our power for a few days. Now we use it for spring and fall camping when we don't have power at our campsite. This thing puts off a lot of heat and having the usb charging ports and light make it extra useful in power outage situations. I've had it for a couple years now with zero issues.Ralph V

1.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser11/16/2021Worked for 2 hoursUnit worked for 2 hours. Pilot light will not stay lit. Basic assumption is failure of the pilot assembly. For the money this unit costs this is unacceptable. When it's working provides a good amount of heat. Unit looks solid but Dewalt quality control truly suffers in this instance.747Captain

1.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser11/11/2021Heater doesn't stay litI've used it for a total of 4 hours and liked it and now the coldest it's been, I'm sitting in the deer stand and it won't stay lit. Also threw the box away so I have no way to return this thing. I've always been a freaky guy but not impressed with thisMason Dallenbach

2.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser02/28/2021Great Idea Poor QC of real world testingDXH12B is known for being broken out of the box (I've bought 3 just to get 1 working unit). Other reviews point this out as well. Just the plug to the board hits the floating assembly where the tanks attach. So when shipped, dropped or jostled it and bump the 5 pin connector and break off the circuit board. Simply reducing this to a 3 pin or cut the 2 off would save the unit. The Dewalt unit is the best one out there for features (20v battery fan, USB charging, 2 tanks attached and LED light) but this one flaw might be the undoing of a great product idea.Superbman101
