Good fun!
My kids really enjoyed getting to dig Into this. It wasn't as hard as others we have tried before, so that made it even better. They loved getting to find all the different minerals, and we're excited to figure put which one was which. They also enjoyed getting to watch them glow with the special light.

    Monsterous Fun
    It's important to keep children engaged, busy and challenged without screen technology. The Discovery Build Your Own Monster Truck kit let's children customize their own big monster truck with their own artistic self expression using color schemes to design hand painted details and embellish with sticker decals to make this truck one-of-a-kind! First, my child enjoyed building the monster truck following the well detailed illustrated and written instructions. If extra help is needed, there are visual instructions online as well. Next using the included set of five brightly assorted acrylic paint, my child had fun painting the wooden body of the vehicle, using the included paint brush. Once the paint had thoroughly dried, the sticker decals were applied and it was time to take this  big monster truck for a spin using the included off-road action wheels. The fun-fact illustrated 18"x 24" poster included was a nice added educational and fun bonus. It would look nice framed and hung upon any young monster truck fan's wall. The Discovery Build Your Own Monster Truck Kit is so wonderfully designed that I can see why it won the Parent's. Choice Award for Fun Stuff.

    This is such a great activity that you get to help your child create a monster truck. It has the wheels and everything you need to make this a great learning and fun activity. Great for a cold or rainy day when you cant go outside. I think it is so great that it comes with the glue to put it together so you do not have to go out and get anything. This comes with the paint so your child can really enjoy this activity completely. It has easy to follow instructions and is durable so you do not have to worry about breaking something trying to get this together.

    Cool activity for grandson!
    This took me back to when I was a kid, putting together model cars and boats with my brothers. This is what is kids did when we were growing up, instead of watching tv all the time or playing on phones. My 7 yr old grandson was able to read the directions and put most of the wooden body together without any help. It has everything you need to complete the truck, with the exception of enough glue, which is not big deal as many people have that on hand anyway. It came complete with paint and stickers if you want to really want to fancy it up. My grandson carefully rolled it around a bit, but he wanted to put it up on his shelf as something we accomplished together, to display to all his friends. It was a definitely a fun project to put together on a snowy day, one that my grandson and I will always cherish.

    Such an awesome gift!
    This is so awesome and would make a great gift for any kid over about age 6ish who is into building or putting things together. My boys loved building this and thought it was so cool that they also got to paint it! It's such a great team building toy if you have more than 1 kid. My older boy (12) decided to play school and he was the instructor who was teaching the younger 2 (6 & 8) what to do and then they all painted it together. Such a fun group project but also easy enough for a single child to do alone. I wish there were more toys like this. I VERY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

    Great, fun, chiseling set for even adults.
    I received this dig set in order to provide an unbiased review of the product. I sat down and helped my 8 year old son do this. We sat at the dinning room table, which shouldn't be done. I highly recommend doing it outside. The material is a blue chalk substance and the powder goes everywhere. The set came it a plastic chisel on one end, plastic knife on the other. It also came it a small plastic pick, a Glow light with a marker that writes invisible but visible with the light. It was very hard to dig with the tools provided. I had to go get a flat head screw driver and a mallet so that something would actually come off for him. It was fun watching him find the rocks but he was disappointed at the end when none of the rocks actually hollowed like the box stated. Not even with the light included. Unless they want you to use the marker and color the rocks? Then I'd think that's kind of pointless. He's most excited a out this marker/light. He goes everywhere with it. If I could buy one and do it without the kids around, I would. Adults can want to do these things too, right?

    This set is pretty fun but it's like a one time and done kinda thing. I got it for my 11yr old son which he thought was pretty cool to do and the flashlight you can shine on them and reveal florescent colors is cool too probably one of the coolest features other then digging out the stones. My 2, 5 and 8 year old all wanted to do this set as well and loved the surprises inside. It comes with the tools you need and they work good to get the stones out. Like I said its a fun thing to do but doesn't last long , cool that you can keep the rocks afterwards. It does make quite the mess so definitely put down a pan or something to collect all the dust and pieces from digging.

    Fantastic activity for older kids!
    This set is so neat! It appeals to a wide range of kids interests--archeology enthusiasts, rock collectors, and children that like science will be thrilled with this rock excavation kit! It contains a chuck of material with the rocks inside, two topls to chip out the rocks, a blacklight pen, magnifying glass, and craft accessories to make keychains with the gemstones they find. There are so many cool components to this set, and its well made. The tools are safe for kids, and still sturdy enough to work. This set will keep kids busy for longer than other styles because of the additional crafting activity that is included in addition to the main excavation activity. This also comes with a great poster to hang in their rooms that gives interesting scientific facts relating to geology. I couldn't be happier with this comprehensive set, it has so many details that really set it apart from similar science kits!

    Discovery Dig & Create Glowing Gemstones
    This is the best messy play, hands-on, fun for your little archeologist and I would highly recommend this for your gift list! We set out some brown packing paper, soaked the cube in water for a few minutes, and started chiseling away. It was a lot of fun for the kids to use the chisel and hammer, and I was definitely close by the entire time to guide them and to clean up a little as they played. They decided to wear rubber gloves and although there was splatter on their shirts and shorts, it washed off their skin immediately and clothes (the next day) without a problem. They just tossed the tools and each rock they found in a container of water and dried them off with a paper towel. We used the included glow light/marker and the rock lit up and glowed brightly! They even wrote a secret message with the invisible ink that lit up brilliantly when we shined the glow light on it. I like that you can use the clips and rings to make keychains. This was a super cool and very fun time for everyone, but the sweetest moment was when my daughter looked at me and said that she wants to be an archeologist one day.
