Will keep your kid occupied
This review is for the Discovery Prehistoric SLIMYGLOOP dig. My son is 10 and has been a huge dinosaur fan since he was one. He also has adhd so it's hard to find things that keep his attention for even a few minutes but I know anything dinosaur related he would be all about it but he also loves slime so putting the two together I just knew that he would be excited and entertained for awhile. This slimy gloop dig is super cool. You start by digging through the layer of black slimy goop either with the tool that is included or with your hands. As you are digging you will discover multiple dino bones and by the time you collect them all you can then build two dinosaurs. My son found and built all the the dinosaurs and then stayed there for another hour just playing with the slimy goop. He had a blast! He asked me to get him another one. This is super fun for kids of many ages that will keep them occupied and having fun for a good amount of time. I think I am going to look for something similar for him for Christmas. Highly recommend this product doe dinosaur lovers or slime lover but if you're kid happens to be both then this will be a sure hit.

Disappointed in Discovery
This started out very promising, the kids LOVED getting their hands into the slime and finding all the little pieces. THAT part was AWESOME. The downfall that we experienced was that some pieces were really difficult to snap together and some do not line up AT ALL. The pieces that did go together seems loose like you really would need glue for it to be stable. There was alot of frustration involved, even my husband could not get it together. Really only ended up with the poster and half assembled dinosaur skeletons. Very disappointing as we love anything DISCOVERY. The kids are still enjoying the slime, but that's about it.

    A lot of gloopy fun
    This was a lot of fun for my son, although the majority of the fun was playing with the "prehistoric gloop" after he built the models. The bones took only a few minutes to find, and it was pretty easy for him to assemble, but the slime was pretty cool. I was worried about him getting it everywhere, which he tried to haha, but it stayed together pretty well as one big good, and didn't stick to stuff it wasn't supposed to (like his clothes). All in all, a cute little toy, great for any kid.

    Good toy!
    Overall, I am pretty happy with the Discovery prehistoric slimygloop dinosaur fossil dig. I was surprised by it being covered in slime – which is not what I was expecting for a dinosaur dig kit! But my son had so much fun with it. You had to really peel and poke through the slime to find all the dinosaur skeleton bones. I like that the slime was black because it made it a little bit easier to find the white and yellowish bones. It came with a digging tool but he had a hard time using that and found it to be more fun to just use his hands. I would definitely not use this for a child younger than the recommended age of 8 years because the hardest part was figuring out how to assemble it, but if they had help, they might not get too frustrated with it. I love that it came with 2 dinosaurs and that they were different colors. It came with the 2 slimygloop dinosaur dig kits, a poster, a digging tray and tool, and easy to follow instructions. The setup was easy and cleanup wasn't too messy. I would definitely recommend this to any dinosaur fan for a unique, fun experience digging for dinosaur bones!

    Fun way to bring science to life
    This is a fun toy to help bring reality to a situation kids otherwise couldn't relate to. My boys (5&9) loved the surprise of finding a skeleton in their respective bags of slime tar. It provided me with an opportunity to teach them history/science while they played. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was after assembly the skulls of the T-Rex didn't stay on upright (they flipped upside down) and for my kids the replay value is somewhat limited. They played with it on a few different occasions, but the first play was exciting, but discovering the dinosaurs loses its novelty after several plays. Still I think it's a great toy and my kids will continue to play with it in short spurts so I'd definitely recommend it to a friend.

    I received the Discovery Prehistoric SLIMYGLOOP Dig through the Walmart Spark Reviewer program. Upon opening the box, you find 2 sealed bags containing the dinosaur parts surrounded by black Slimy goop. Also included is a tray to put them in For a work area. My granddaughter loved digging Through the slimy goop, which has a consistency similar to slime, but not sticky. She loved the feel Of it. It was easy to find and remove the pieces But take extra care to get the tiniest pieces out, too. After finding all the pieces it was super easy to Put together the dinosaur. Some of the pegs that Went into the holes needed parental help. The Assembled dinosaurs were not easy to play with as they fall apart easily if pressure is put on them. They are great as table top decorations but play Is also possible. The slimy goop was also a hit. The granddaughter played with the goop for an hour, And then put it in a sealed container to save For later use. A highly recommended toy.

    Cool set for Dino lovers!
    My daughter is obsessed with dinosaurs. She loves fossils. This Discovery Prehistoric SLIMYGLOOP Dig set was right up her alley. You have to remove dinosaur bones from “slimygoop” and then build 2 different dinosaur models. A T-Rex and a triceratops. The set also comes with a “Facts about Fossils” poster, size 24in x 18in.

    My son loved it
    The discovery prehistoric slimy gloop comes with 2 dinosaur models. It comes with a plastic digging tray to put your slimy gloop in. I would advice doing one model at a time so you dont get your peices mixed up. My 6 yr old really enjoyed the dig then afterwards he was able to build the model by snapping the pieces in place. It was fairly easy. It also has a really cool facts about fossils poster included.After the models where finished he still had the slime to play with. I highly recommend this if you have a slime/dino fan. It would be Great for a Birthday gift.

    Cool idea, not well executed
    The idea of digging in slime for a dinosaur is really fun. My 5 and 8 year old loved doing it. I liked that the slime was not sticky and the parts were easy to find and came out pretty clean. The next step of actually building the dinosaur was not great though. The pieces didn't fit together well. I needed to do the work and even still the dinosaurs fell apart the minute you moved them. Cool idea in theory, but needed a better model for the skeleton.

    Very cool!
    I have 2 boys, 8yrs and 15yrs old, they both love dinosaurs and they had a lot of fun with this kit, as soon as I opened up the box they were ready to start finding pieces in the goop. This slime is very thin and loose, I definitely recommend covering up your surface area with newspaper or paper towels, even foil would work well because it does get messy. I did appreciate that it came with 2 different dinosaurs to find and the fact that they were packaged separately in their own bag of goop so you were not getting bones mixed up. In the instructions it states just to wipe the bones clean with a dry paper towel or just use your hands, however I found it easier just to rinse them off with a little water. Building the dinosaur was not to difficult for my oldest son but my little guy needed a lot of help, the instructions were easy to follow but the snapping together of pieces was hard for him. FYI the slime/goop is reusable, once you are finished with the dig just put it in a zip bag or an air tight container and it can be played with again and again. The poster it comes with is very cool, pretty big in size and has lots of neat facts, great for hanging on the bedroom wall. I do recommend this, it's great for the dinosaur loving kids, they get to play, learn, and get a little dirty, now days our kids spend so much time with electronics that a toy like this becomes much appreciated.
