What a great holiday book! The series are very well known due to its great humor and the way it is written. Jeff Kinney set the book in a great format to make the reader intrigued into the book. Comics, pictures, and a "teenage voice" is all it took to make this book a bestseller. I recommend this book to young readers as it will teach them different styles of writing; a great study tool to writers. On the other hand, it's funny, grabbing, and fun to read! A "must read"!

the 4th book starts with Greg wanting to spend his summer in doors and playing video games but his mom has other ideas. Greg gets out of school and he plans out that he is going to spend the whole summer indoors and playing video games but his mom tells to do lots of chores instead of playing games the whole day for the whole summer. Greg thinks that this might be the worst summer ever but then he thinks that it will get worse because of his mean brother Rodrick. Then Rodrick goes up to Greg and he starts making fun of him and that he has to do lots of chores. Then most of the time he had to do a bunch of stuff and had no time to play any video games. He tries to find a way but he has to do even more work so then he still tries to find a way to do all of his work to do and he forgot he had to do his homework to. Then he says that he could to his homework but then he forgets to do his homework

This book is about a kid named Greg. His vacation is the same thing as his school. But he has more fun than at school. He still has the old friends which is Rowley. His brother is still a pain in the neck.

    Greg would love nothin...
Greg would love nothing better than to spend his summer inside the house. Especially since his parents have decided they can't afford to go to the beach this summer. Greg's mother on the other hand wants him outside. She comes up with all kinds of activities. She tries a book club and Greg ends up being the only one in it. He keeps getting in trouble with the parents of his best friend Rowley. It seems like the more Greg tries to have fun his way the more trouble finds him. Once again Jeff Kinney has created a book that the kids love. I actually had to purchase two copies so that I could read one of them. I had a deadline though since I have three other student names on the list to read it next. I definitely recommend the Diary of a Wimpy Kid Series to my students. The funny thing is I probably would not have picked it out. My dyslexic husband was with me at a book store when he saw it and told me if they'd had books like that when he was young and struggling he probably would have read more. I am so glad he was there to recommend it. I can't keep them on my shelves.

    Ive recently come to ...
I've recently come to accept that I have the humor of a 6th grade boy. Therefore, getting the latest in the "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" series was like Christmas to me. And boy did it make me laugh. A lot. Greg is now on summer break, with his mom promising to make it the best summer ever. Unfortunately, his mom's prediction proves to be flawed. Trips to the beach, the pool and starting his own business all prove to be bad ideas. I read most of the book on the subway and during parts (like the "Reading is Fun" portion) had me laughing so hard I was crying and could barely breathe. Greg's line about what makes a classic novel still makes giggle. Highly recommended to those who love to laugh.
