Great laptop for the price.
I am very happy with the EVOO EVC156-2BL. I didnt expect much for the price ($299) but I was quickly impressed by the quality and performance. I mostly use the laptop for email, watching YouTube, Zoom, and spreadsheets so I dont tax the CPU much. The response is great and there isnt a lag for the things I do. I have converted several videos using Handbrake and it encoded them quickly. The display is 1080p and is good for streaming movies and YouTube. I get about 6 hours of constant use with the battery. WiFi is very good. I only have 200 mbps internet service at home but was able to get 175 mbps on WiFi with this laptop; not bad. Windows runs fine but I like Linux so I installed Linux Mint in a dual-boot configuration along with the preinstalled Windows 10 Home edition. The laptop is not locked down as some people mentioned. Just hold down the Delete key after pressing the power button. The only issue I had while installing Linux was the Wifi driver did not come with the Mint installation software. I connected a USB ethernet adapter to access the internet and Linux quickly downloaded the necessary wifi driver. Linux Mint runs great without any issues. Again, this laptop is great for the price.

Good but there is a deal breaker.
Pros: speedy, great display, thin, light. Cons: no airplane key, small 0 on keypad, small shift key on right side, thick bezel around display (old fashioned), no ethernet slot. DEAL BREAKER (returned) Confirmed by tech support / BIOS IS LOCKED! PC does not look to USB as first boot, just goes to hard drive. This means you can't change the BIOS boot order to start PC from a USB stick for recovery / initial boot to start Windows if you ever have a system crash. No other PC that I am aware of locks you out of BIOS changes. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE.

    Great potential, bad customer support!
This machine itself had great specs for the price, and for the most part the computer is good. The problem in my case is when the computer failed, which I understand it is not everyone's case. As with all products, there is a chance that yours will fail, and although it's still under 1 year of owning the computer, I can't get a hold of anyone in the company for support, the website is currently not working, it displays nothing but specs for 3 models, LP4, LP5, and LP6... when you try to contact support, there is no info, no number. The only option is to chat with a "Answer Bot" that doesn't even reply beyond the part where it takes your name and email. I am giving this a 1 star, because no product is worth anything if there's no support system from the company to back up the product. Buy this at your own risk, and hope yours doesn't suddenly stop working like mine did.

Not worth the toilet paper to wipe it up.
started failing about 8 months in, BSOD. I tried to replace the SSD but it is soldered to the motherboard. This item comes with a 12-month warranty but there is no warranty information on the manufacturer website, nor is there a customer service phone number to call. This is basically a throwaway device. DO not waste your money.

    NO CUSTOMER SUPPORT AVAILABLE
This is a very thin product, and light weight compared to what I previously had. It works pretty well. I have problems with the space bar on my device. My husband has the same device but has not experienced the problems that I have. My battery drained and would not charge after five months use. I was unable to get any assistance from the EVOO technical support number. It rang. A recorded message said wait for an available technician. After 10.5 minutes on hold I was instructed to call back because no assistance was available. I attempted this multiple times with the same result. Fortunately, because I had purchased a warranty, SQUARE TRADE technical support worked with me for over an hour (remote device access) to get the system to recognize my battery and charge it again. I would not purchase another EVOO because they do not provide technical support. I purchased this model because it provided most of the features I wanted at the best price. That's great as long as you don't experience a problem.

    It's great for $300!
I wasn't sure what to expect at $300, and its keyboard is cheap feeling, but the screen, SPEED, instant boot up, and slim case make this a great buy at this price! No issues in a few days of frequent use. Clean Windows installation (no bloatware) is really nice. Wait til these go on sale and buy!

Day 3 with computer. I must say it was very easy to set up for a beginner. But after that I don't have to much good to say about the laptop. Can't get in touch with Tech support. Want to register my computer but I cant seem to get any help. Tried the phone number and got an answering machine, tried to get some help at the website, but that was no help to me. Terrible terrible tech support! Twice now I tried to run the laptop on a fully charged battery and within 20 mins the laptop shut down. There is not battery to be seen, it must be built inside the laptop. Never seen anything like that. Well needless to say I am not very happy because I can't get any help from EVOO. Annie T

    Good Enough
The specs on this laptop for $300.00 are honestly unbeatable at the moment. I was only hesitant because of the brand, but so far so good. If anyone is curious, no, the RAM is not upgradable. There are no free slots for extra sticks and the 8GB is soldered to the motherboard. The M.2 SSD is upgradable though, so that's at least a plus. The keyboard isn't the best. I find myself sometimes hitting a key twice for it to finally type. I hate that the zero on the number pad isn't the wider key setup, so you have to hit it just right with your thumb due to the right arrow key placement. (you can see this if you zoom in on the photos). It was one of those things where I didn't realize how annoying it would be until I actually used it. The keyboard is also not backlit. The trackpad is massive. Too big, in my opinion. I find myself touching it with my palm as I'm typing and that gets annoying. You can turn the trackpad off by hitting the "FN ESC" keys and just use a mouse. The speakers are on the cheaper sounding end, but the placement is on the top toward the screen, so that's good. It only offers 2 USB 3.0 options and no USB type C - this is listed in the specs, but I didn't realize how few options I had for components until later. My fault. Overall, it's a peppy system. Very good for work from home or students. If you are wanting a cheap casual gaming option, I recommend an AMD Ryzen 5 or 7 setup. The integrated Iris Plus 6 graphics just aren't up to par as something like integrated Radeon Vega graphics that AMD offers.

Great Value, heavier than expected, YES!!
Set up was fast and easy, it synced right up with my primary laptop and iPhone. Within 15 minutes I was online and surfing the web, so easy!! I did install Bitdefender Total Security and it found 4 critical Windows 10 updates that took about an hour. Not having a CD drive will take some getting used to but the two USB ports will be fine for software drivers not available on the web. My only complaint is the space bar on the keyboard, it must hit right in the center to work, I'll just use my illuminated Logitech keyboard instead. I caught it on sale fir $329, what a deal!! Received very quickly in perfect condition, thanks Walmart!!

    OMG the Issues
at first I liked it and even with some unpositive reviews wanted to give it a try. Used it 3xs, homescreen locked would let me in for 15min, battery drained fast even when it said full charged had 3hr and some min. left. couldn't always get it to turn on, had to keep hold and push power button till it decided to come on. Came with a yellow flyer saying don't return call this number, after 2hrs on hold customer service sucked. Person didnt even want to listen to my issues and hung up in m y face. I'm very disappointed in this brand and laptop. Hope others have better luck.
