Not up to Farberware standards- Junk
The first time I used it was past the return period. The blade was damaged chopping chicken legs on a stack of newspapers, the second time I used it to chop a piece of frozen bacon and the handle broke.

    The only cleaver that you will EVER need!
    This cleaver is SO impressive! Cleavers are kinda intimidating because they are so sharp and have some weight to them. That is why I appreciate this one SO much! The added protection of the self-sharpening case, makes it so that the fear-factor is removed for me. A huge and serious cutting device laying in the knife drawer, as I am digging around for the perfect tiny paring knife, well, it wouldn't make a good combination. So, i was super pleased to see that this cleaver comes with a case that included a safety mechanism so that the knife can't just slip out, you have to actively lift a flap so that the blade will be released. Amazing safety feature! Even better, the case is a sharpener, too! So that means that every time you remove the blade it passes over the sharpening tool, which is pure GENIUS! This is one of those things that should just have ALWAYS been standard but no one else seemed to think of it before. Another feature I really appreciate is the weight in the handle. For any job that requires the use a cleaver, you need to put some weight in to the task. This cleaver is STRONG, AND SUPER SHARP! It has all the weight and power along with the priceless safety features. THIS is the cleaver you want to buy! Best one out there, in my opinion. I was gifted this item in exchange for my honest review and I would honestly say that I would not only pay for this item, I would probably even pay twice the asking price, worth every penny you will pay!
