Great specs for the price!
Absolutely no one is offering these amount of specs for this price. I tried to wait for Amazon Prime Day for a deal and found an Acer branded laptop, Gateway's actual owner, that was $500 on sale that didn't wow me as it had a year old processor and not a lot of storage. after doing a little bit of research I found this gem. 11th gen Intel i5 instead of 10th gen that you find in just about everything nowadays is a great find. this laptop isn't even on sale. it's just the normal price for while Best Buy "Deal of the Day" promotions and that Amazon Prime Day offer were all worst than this Gateway. I bought this laptop in Rose Gold for my neice as her graduation gift for her to start college in the fall. watched a video review on this and found it was even easy to go into the BIOS and raise the overall graphics performance with just a few tweaks at the cost of a little bit of battery life. well worth it to get that Iris Xe running at its best. you get the most up to date everything on this laptop: nice small 14" inch screen that packs a 1080p display, 512 gb ssd which no other laptop is offering for this price, easy access to expandable storage with another M.2 slot, and 16 gb of ram (literally no one is offering that in this price range. only downside is that it is not a removable ram stick and cannot be upgraded further but you will more than likely never need to.) it's an older Intel wireless chip but still gives you Bluetooth and WiFi 5 with AC. this laptop also has very little deck flex in the keyboard which even higher end laptops still usually have. it's got a nice durable metal feel top cover as well. some of the biggest drawbacks are that they use an unknown brand for the SSD (looking up the part number of the SSD literally brings up no manufacturer) and that Acer went very third party for making this Gateway laptop for Walmart (the computer only recognizes the brand of this computer as "GPU Company") and finally they load the computer with a lot of icons on the computer for games and their THX application that are just links to websites that you can't really remove as they are not actual programs so they will always be present in the start menu. other than that though, amazing value without even being on sale and puts many other laptops and companies to shame. it has a fingerprint reader including Trusted Platform so the free windows 11 upgrade will push to this laptop with no problems! buy this thing so Walmart knows this is what we want from private labels!

Beware - Quality defect
Purchased this unit with 512GB SSD drive for black friday. Unit is light, bright screen, mousepad makes a clicking sound. However, in early August the laptop screen started to separate from screen and now it is completely detached. I am so disappointed in the manufacturing quality given the screen separated within a year. Son is starting middle school and cannot use it and is so disappointed. walmart cannot help and working with Gateway on repair/return. Will update on how it goes.

    The best deal you'll find
    This computer has been a blessing for my life, I absolutely adore it. It has a great RAM, and a loooot of space for my games and files. I use my computer to do several videocalls per day, work, study and play. I can have a Teams meeting, listen music on Spotify, search something in the internet and play on Steam at the same time without any issues. The camera it's so good compared to others brands that are more expensive. The sound is great, the picture it's awesome for the price, you can even download windows 11. The only things I don't like is having to hold the ON button for a “long period” (5 seconds or so) to wake up the laptop and how easily the protectors from under the laptop fall, I had to change them. Besides that it's great! (I bought this laptop a year ago and it still works great, I haven't had any problem at all).

    HORRIBLE PRODUCT DON'T BUY
    The computer isn't strong at all. Like most computers on the sides, it has plastic protection for the glass, but for this one, it didn't. I thought it would be fine, but when it accidentally slipped, it broke. I've only used this computer for 9 months. The quality isn't good at all. My Lenovo computer fell many times and lasted for a longer time cause of its protection on the sides and the quality. I don't recommend buying this item at all. If you buy this product you just wasted $375.

    Best buy for entry level PC with performance
    For value its hard to beat. The CPU in this with Xe GPU graphics and decent storage with memory made it a great first time PC buy for my child. I would recommend to check out the YouTube video review of this laptop where someone discusses how to adjust the BIOS settings for excellent 1080p gaming on it as well (this was unexpected as it was almost equal in performance to the Nvidia GTX1660 Ti I ordered with a different laptop). I think the main items I would have liked to have was for one a proper HD webcam. The second would be a more responsive mouse and the last would be thunderbolt support as there is clearly support on the CPU according to Intel and there is a USB-C port where a similar priced Asus had the feature. I would have been nice to use the external port for an eGPU, monitor or storage.

    CHEAP LAPTOP, BAD QUALITY, BUY OTHER BRAND
    Bought this item on Black Friday 2021, worked fine initially. Then I brought it back to Indonesia and just a few days a go the screen had multiple horizontal lines flickers. Tried to find Gateway customer service to no avail, the Acer company in Asia no longer accepts Gateway Laptop service. The I send for regular service and paid USD 30. VERY DISAPPOINTED.

    Excellent Performance, Quality, Game Experience!
    This laptop is packed with performance features. It is very well constructed with outstanding quality. The 11th generation i5 also makes everything so fast and so smooth. I tried Sea Warfare game. This laptop handles the game very well. The game experience is excellent with amazingly clear and crispy graphics and sound quality. This laptop came with windows 10 and was upgraded to Windows 11 in early January. The upgrade is very smooth and fast. I did not encounter any problem.

    GREAT laptop for SMALL Budgets
    A month ago I bought this laptop model, specifically in black. It comes well protected with anime and the necessary protective plastics, so you can rest easy when transporting it. It has a good screen, vivid colors, and the size is great. It is not heavy, so you can move it from side to side without losing your arms. The startup of the laptop is very fast so after pressing the power button you can start using it in about 6-7 seconds, which is always something to be appreciated. When I bought this laptop I did it looking for a team that would allow me to work creating content quickly and fluidly, something that it totally achieved. Something that helps is its battery, which in its normal distribution lasts about 6 hours. If you are looking to play, there are other teams that can give you better performance, as this is not designed for it. Sure, it can process light games and run them very well, but for others a little more demanding, its limitations will be noticed. Do you want to use it to watch series or movies? No problem! The image is sharp and the sound is great. Max volume is fine. Of course, if you want incredibly immersive sound, you should invest in a good pair of external speakers. If it is not necessary for you (like me) you have nothing to worry about: the laptop will do the job and you will not miss any detail. The only thing I'm not happy with is the top and the trackpad. They stain VERY easily with casual use, but the rest is an effective, attractive and very useful equipment. I would buy it again.

    You could do much worse for the money.
    For the price, you could do a lot worse than this laptop. Some fairly low end components where it doesn't matter so much (keyboard, speakers, etc.). Screen is okay - the HDMI output is also just okay. I get HD resolution @ 60hz on my 2K 32" monitor. Good enough for my purposes. Performance is on par with other 11th gen i5 systems. The Iris Xe graphics chip is okay for what it is. The fingerprint scanner works mostly. I'm not a gamer but it does run GTA V smoothly with high visuals. Installed Fedora 35 and fell in love with this cheap laptop. It performs very well with a decent Linux system installed. Blender performance is solid. Decent machine.
