WOW Genuine Leather
George Size 9 Men's Low Hiking Boots Genuine Leather. Color Black/ gray with laces (weight= 13.4 ounces each) Genuine upper leather and lower anti-slip rubber sole for better traction. These low profile boots are great for hiking, camping, and outdoor trails since we are going to Big Bear Lake California next month I prefer the low profile boots because of being lighter and easier to maneuver. I assume being genuine leather makes them waterproof but I've not got them wet yet. Pros: Great color combinations, Non-slip rubber sole, Breathable for being leather not faux material, Toe reinforcement, back loop for easy pull shoes on, and lightweight. Cons: Non. So far no blisters and shoes are wide enough since I don't have wide feet

Started to fall apart in less than 2 hours
The shoes looked nice and they fit me well but they started to fall apart in less than 2 hours. Much of the time spent before they started falling apart was just doing some light office work. I wasn't even walking or hiking. Both shoes started to fail in the same area, on the inside of the heel (see pics). The padding lost it's grip and rolled down causing uncomfortable pressure on the inside of my heel. I liked the style and they were initially comfortable before they started to fall apart. Regardless of the fair pricing, I cannot recommend them. For a pair of shoes to last just 2 hours is just pitiful.

    Damage to Innersoles
    I liked the looks of the shoes and initially felt that they were reasonable comfortable. I then took my first walk in them, for about an hour, and when I came back and took them off I discovered that the top layer of the innersole had separated from its base in the region of the heel on both shoes. I was going to return them, but didn't because I found a pair of innersoles from an old pair of shoes that I had that would fit and act as replacement.

    Good looking comfortable shoe
    These shoes are very comfortable. I have the brown ones. They would be good for walks. They actually look like Hiker type shoes. They have a nice cushy soul. I see they retail at walmart.com for $28.66. I think that's a fair deal. I have seen lesser quality for a higher price. More stylish than my jogging shoes. But still has Comfort. Will get used for these shoes. They also come in black

    Well Built Day Hiker Boot by George
    I am reviewing my new hiking boots by George Garret. I was really surprised by the build quality of these shoes because of their lower price. Boy was I surprised. These are real nice hiking boots. As you can tell by my pictures, the grip on these soles is fantastic. And the top of the shoe is really made from real leather, not some bonded type that won't survived your first hike. No, these shoes look and feel like they will last through more than one hiking season. So I usually wear a size 10 wide but these are 10 regular. I was worried that they would be too tight to wear. I loosened up the shoe laces and slipped them on. Wow, was I surprised at the level of comfort right away. The memory foam insert felt very comfortable and so I tightened up the shoe laces to find that these fit my feet perfectly. So for those who like a narrow shoe, these may not work but for those of us who wear wider shoes, they fit great. Did I mention the quality of the build? These shoes are solid and have both shoe lace rings and loops that are built to last. Since I have only had these shoes for a short while, I not sure how long they will last but from what I see now, I think they will last a good while. Sturdy, good looking, very comfortable and all at an reasonable price. I would recommend these for your next adventure.

    these are nice
    I would rate these up there with the big name brands and seem to be made as well. These George men shoes are nice. They fit great for me. I got a 9 1/2 and it is just right. They have a comfortable cushion inside. The laces are strong and the outer design of genuine leather is classy looking. The shoe has a pull strap on the rear if you have a tight fit. The sole is made for gripping and to keep one from sliding . These will be great for day hiking or wearing around anywhere for that matter. You can even put shoe polish on them if they get scuffed up. I'm going to get another pair for my son. I would recommend these for anyone.

    Excellent shoe
    Nice shoes, especially with jeans. These are light and comfy shoes but not sure if I would call them hiking shoes because of their low cut, otherwise they look the part with a nice leather shell and a very durable feel. The soles have a great tread with no worries of slipping. The shoebox runs accurate as I'm a 12 and a 12 fit perfectly. I prefer wide shoes but these were wide enough. The insole has no arch support but it easily removes and replaced with a more supportive one which I would have done regardless. Overall a good durable shoe with great traction and comfortable feel. I would definitely recommend.

    Wow! We're totally impressed with these shoes. To start, had a need for some shoes to go walking in the woods. Regular walking shoes weren't cutting it in the mud and rough terrain. These shoes are fantastic for light hiking. The ankle comes up to the level of a normal walking shoe. But they're made durable with a thick sole on the bottom and cushiony insole. The tread provides great traction in the water, over logs, in the mud. But because these shoes are not high tops, they're lightweight and comfortable. They can be worn out in the woods or just down to the store. The tongue of the shoe has a lot of padding and doesn't rub too much on the top of the foot. Likewise, the back of the shoe doesn't cause rubbing or create and blisters or pressure sores on the back heel. The shoelace is more like a hiking shoe. Unlike other shoes of this type, it has actual holes for the shoelace, along with a few fabric shoelace holes. Overall, the look is rugged. The shoes themselves are extremely durable. And just as importantly, when they're dirty and muddy, they wash up fine and are back to looking brand new. Get yourself a pair. You'll like them too.

    Good value for the money....
    Got these to replace a worn out pair of walking shoes. Be advised they are leather, so they are a bit on the warm side, but not too much to be considered uncomfortable. The soles have good tread for walking on whatever path you want to take, from concrete to grass, and these do equally well on the surfaces I tried. You'll never mistake them for a high dollar pair of shoes, but they do well for the jobs I used them for, and my feet didn't hurt after walking 4 miles with them. I can't say that for a lot of shoes I've worn since I got older.

    Nice shoes! They are comfortable. The size may run a 1/2 size small. I usually wear a 12--12 1/2, these are 13s and fit perfect. The front half of these shoes is leather. The center section appears to be vinyl and the heel part is canvas. They look pretty good because all you see out front is leather. They are quite comfortable and get good traction on wet concrete. I would definitely recommend the George Garret Men's Shoes to anyone that needs some comfy knock around shoes.
