This laser jet is as easy as pie to use
I bought this all in one printer for myself and my son who is a college student. The printer is compact with excellent features and very easy to utilize. I love the design and small space it takes up. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I've had multiple issues with this printer.
I bought this printer about 2 months and have had nothing but problems with it. Feeder 1 jams a lot when I'm trying to print envelopes and checks. It looses connection a lot also. I'm very frustrated with it and wanted a printer with numerous printing options to replace my older HP version (wireless also) so more than one person can print and this one doesn't appear to be working as I feel it should be. I would not recommend purchasing this printer to anyone who needs it for multiple features.

    Works well enough
    Bought this for home as well as business use and specifically wantted a duplex color printer. Unfortunately it continues to jam when printing duplex manually which is causing me to waste more paper, ink, and toner than I should be saving by using the duplex function. It is good enough but not a great product. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

    Great features, but too many bugs
    This printer has great features, perfect size for home/office. But there are too many bugs with it. - The scan to network folder cannot scan any document bigger than 75dpi - The scans, specially from the auto-feeder renders scans that are very skewed, they can't be used for business. - The Color toner usage is abnormally very high compared other HP LaserJet's - HP support is useless, often waiting on the call for an hour, then providing no resolution after an hour or more troubleshooting.

    I bought this for home use, and it's a great all-in-one at a reasonable price. The quality of the printing is exceptional, and great for achieving detail and contrast. I'll never go back to an ink jet after having a LaserJet

    Fantastic printer!
    This printer rocks! It is super fast, and spot on clarity. It costs so much less per page than my ink jet printer! While it costs more to buy replacement cartridges, it comes out to dirt cheap per page. 3000 pages black and 1000 pages color. It has all the features most people could ever want for a home or small business. From pictures to bluetooth/WIFI printing to fax and copying, this does it all. You can't go wrong with this printer for the price! I'm so glad I bought it instead of another ink jet printer.

    HP long time fan, this replaced a2007 HP 1022n that I passed along to a granddaughter. Works as expected, love the scanner feature and setup was a breeze. Toolbox software is very useful.

    A good machine with some drawbacks
    I was looking for an MFC that was like my Laserjet PRO 200 MFP in my home office; Machine I grew to love. Sadly HP no longer produces it or I would've bought a second one. Overall the MFP281 machine is good. Prints well color is good. The first issue I saw was that it is a bit of a chore to pick up the printed pages off of the output tray. A minor thing perhaps but when you do it repeatedly all day it becomes a little annoying The control pad on the front of the unit is tiny and I can barely put my fingers on the numbers when I have to occasionally send a fax. The tiny keypad also comes in to play during set up. At one point I even tried to use the eraser on a pencil because my fingers are just too big for the key panel provided. There is a bit of drawback in the software as well since I have yet to figure out how to pull a scanner icon out and put it on my desktop. That was very easy to do on the LaserJet Pro 200 The wireless set up was easy. The unit integrates well with windows 10 Overall I find the unit serviceable although I miss the larger scanner of the laser jet Pro 200. I like the added feature of the envelope feeder because it used to be a pain to have to pull the tray every time you want an envelope printed. On balance I would rate this machine at about 85 to 90% of the capability of the LaserJet Pro 200 but it is still a good product in spite of some blemishes

    Unsatisfied with the product.
    The top feed for copying quite working properly the first week - jams every time a sheet of paper is fed in. Also, I wasn't made aware that this machine lacks a software package that makes it compatible with the MacOS High Sierra. Very frustrating.
