My whole family has been raised on Hamburger Helpe
My whole family has been raised on Hamburger Helper Beef Stroganoff... I started with the regular version but switched to the Deluxe version when it came out. I saute 16 oz of sliced mushrooms in 2-3 tbsp butter, then pull the mushrooms out and leave the mushroom broth in the pan... I use 4 cups whole milk, and I add 1 tsp of garlic powder and 1 tsp of onion powder. I never use water when making this; I substitute a cup of sour cream (we REALLY like sour cream!) for the 1/2 cup water. The sour cream goes in last, right before serving. I let it simmer for a couple of minutes to take the chill off

I can't review this product yet but it irritates me that the box says "Add your own twist" and offers some delicious suggestions but there are no instructions on the amount I need.  It says add sour cream but I have no idea how much i should add.  It would be much better if they would say add 1, 2 3 cups? of sour cream instead of making me guess.

    Gooey Tasteless Mess
    I followed instructions but this tasted like school glue and the noodles were the absolute worst thing I have had, I wasted my good ground chuck making this horrible stuff, it's going in the trash, the dogs are getting the meat but the noodles were so gooey they will choke on it. No more deluxe for me.

    This does not even taste close to what it used to.
    This does not even taste close to what it used to. I also recently tried the cheeseburger helper a few weeks ago and the same they do not have any flavor anymore, it used to be a favorite for my family, sorry to say we will not be purchasing again.

    The Beef Stroganoff flavor is enjoyable, but take a good close look at the Nutrition Facts! Who gets by just eating 1/3 of a cup of the prepared dish for dinner or supper! That only amounts to a measly few bites! Even one cup's worth per person could be considered skimpy by some folks' standards. Imagine tripling the sodium content to get a reasonable size supper serving; that would mean 1590 mg sodium there! Hamburger Helper Beef Stroganoff is definitely NOT recommended for people on sodium-restricted diets!
