Great TV for $500
I dont have much to compare to but I love this TV. My 9 year old LG started having issues and after several days of looking at reviews I decided on this one and I am not disappointed. I have a $75 sound bar I dont use anymore because the sound is great. I love the fact there are 2 options to install the legs. I chose the inner ones since my stand is made for a 42" and it barely sticks out farther then the stand. Picture is so good my roomate is jealous.

    beware misrepresentation of spec facts
this tv is only 60hz, the manufacturer verified it. Yet the site info on several store descriptions all state its 240hz. the hdmi ports are all 60hz, and the software helps it show 4k at 60hz. This is not a 240hz tv, and will not be sufficient as use for a gaming monitor. Plz let customers be aware of the misrepresentation of specs on this site and others. the 55H8G is 60hz ... period. As a 4k 60hz tv, it is beautiful, and i love it, but as a gaming monitor, it has issues. Hence my review... If you want a great tv, this is it. If you want to use as a monitor, this is not it...

WEIRD SOUND FEATURE, OR LACK THEREOF
THIS TV HAS A QUIRK I WISH I HAD KNOWN ABOUT BEFORE I PUCHASED. YOU CAN LISTEN TO THE SOUND WITH BLUETOOTH ENABLED HEADPHONES OR THE TV SPEAKERS BUT NOT BOTH AT THE SAME TIME. SO IF I AM USING MY HEADPHONES, NOBODY ELSE IN THE ROOM CAN HEAR THE TV. NONE OF MY OTHER 3 TVS RESTRICT LISTENING LIKE THIS. QUITE A DISAPPOINTMENT !!

    Economical
So far the only negative thing I have to say is that I believe it is falsely advertised as a 256mhz refresh rate. It is more like 60 possibly 120. Some DVD movies will pixelate, the blu-rays seem fine. I'm not a techy, I just know some of the DVD's looked better on my older TV. It's working for what I need it to do.

    Great Colors true 4k
Has true 4K colors and is great for gaming with the new Xbox series X. I didn't like that they lie in the description about it being 120 hz? Why would would they say that if it wasn't? I did a lot of research on TVs that are compatible with the new Xbox series X and it turns out they all lie in their descriptions. Who knew? I do now. Most TVs say they are 60hz , but thats not always the case. This Hesense H8G is a true 60hz works good for gaming speeds. It has the best price unless you want to pay 1,500 to 3,000 for a 120hz tv but most of them are not a true 120hz.

    "Smart" Decision
I already own several smart devices in my home. From a few light bulbs various media devices, and even a smart watch. This 55 inch Quantum 4K Hisense Android TV was the obvious next step in my adventure. From unboxing it to several weeks later worth of use I do not regret my decision of purchasing this TV. Installation and setup was a breeze. Step by step prompts on joining the WIFI and signing into my account to access my Android apps. I now have all my video apps in one quick and easily accessible place. I no longer have to change between multiple inputs to be able to watch TV, movies, etc.. Audio is simply amazing, but the best by far is the 4K Picture. Even while playing non-4K content, the picture upscales amazingly to fill in the 4K color space. Definition is amazing at 55 inches. While playing true 4K videos, you can clearly see details such as freckles, hair follicles, and threads on clothes. I'm extremely tempted to buy another of these for my bedroom, as long as my wife doesn't see it before I get it hung on the wall.

Exceptional picture quality with amazing detail. Sound quality is also good. The only drawback is the number of adjustment choices, but once set the picture is outstanding. I'd recommend purchasing to anyone looking for a fair priced TV with exceptional picture quality.

    Premium TV at budget price
The Hisense 55H8G Quantum Series does so much at a reasonable and affordable price . With this TV, we can stop considering so called “premium” televisions. Overall this is a high-quality television. This TV is an affordable Android TV with comprehensive Google Assistant integration, crisp HDR performance, and powerful Dolby Atmos sound. The best things from this tv are : Bright, colorful at a budget price Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision HDR Easy to use operating system as this is Android based TV Super slim bezels 4 HDMI ports Few things that can be improved: Remote isn't backlit Chromecast connectivity issues Design is a bit bland This is a feature-packed television, thanks to Google. Android TV is powerful, flexible, and useful all at the same time. No problems with the initial setup, which took about 15 minutes total including few app installs. Surprisingly this TV works best in 4K compared to regular HD. This TV offers a bounty of ports for your external entertainment hardware, all set in several inches from the left-hand edge of the TV..With built-in Dolby Atmos, the Hisense 55H8G set offers louder, more realistic and more encompassing audio than other offerings in its price tier.

Doesn't Play Nice with AV Receivers
We primarily watch satellite TV, but occasionally stream YouTube through the TV. Since the pandemic, I also would try to stream Facebook workouts through the TV but ended up using a newer TV. I was offered a discount and saw an opportunity to try out a newer Smart TV. I had never heard of Hisense, but was excited to get it delivered to my doorstep from Amazon. Setup was easy to swap out TV's. I tried to do the Smart Setup by signing into my Google account, but it did not find my device. However, I was able to later go into my Home and see the device. One nice feature is being able to name the individual inputs, so when changing them you don't have to remember which device is plugged into what input. The ugly. I have emailed support to see how to get around this. HDMI CEC doesn't work well, if at all. Our old TV used the AV receiver to switch input signals. We had all our devices connected to the AV receiver via HDMI cables with one HDMI cable going from the AV receiver output to a TV input. When any of the devices were turned on (satellite receiver, DVD etc), the AV receiver would automatically switch inputs and turn on the TV. We tried to keep the same configuration with the new TV which only led to chaos. Update – Called Hisense to see how to get our setup to be best configured. Tech was knowledgeable and advised that the TV is set up to turn on everything it is connected to. The TV is supposed to be the center of the entertainment system and not set up to go through an A/V receiver. Based on this, unfortunately, we switched back to our old TV to be able to use our A/V receiver.
