High Energy Treat
Living in the South, we have birds migrating or wintering all year long visiting the feeders and watering baths. I put this cake out last night and enjoyed watching a few Cardinals and wrens discover their new treat. I liked that this cake contains mealworms to give the birds added protein for the energy they need. It's a nice treat for them with a varietyof seeds too. I cannot wait for Spring to see what other bird species come to visit.

Big cakes
Do note these are very big seed cakes. I have yet to find a feeder that these fit inside. They are packed with seeds and mealworms. The visitors to my yard love both. A good value for a special treat for the birds and squirrels.

This seed block is huge so I cut it in half and set it out for my birds. It took about a week for them to notice it but once they did they picked away at all the tasty bits pressed into this high quality seed cake. It will last a while but I will buy again when it's done.paulas1

I rigged up a place to put this block where squirrels couldn't get to it. The birds were very skeptical at first. I ended up moving it to my iron table on the deck. A squirrel got on it which evidently alerted the birds to it and then it was on! I got beautiful Woodpeckers, Wax Cedars, Cardinals, Chickadees, Blue Birds and more. It was truly spectacular! This is a truly substantial amount of seed and lasted for about a week. I was bringing it in at night because the squirrels would pull a thug life and possibly steal it or some other wild animal. Note during the day the squirrels got a bunch of it. I enjoyed it so much that I'm building a feeder that will accommodate the block perfectly and hopefully stop the squirrels. Then it will last longer. This is a wonderful wild bird food that I will purchase again.julieleaa0

However, I love both bluebirds and cardinals but see neither hardly ever. I heard that feeding mealworms can attract them but they're far too hard to feed. They always just end up wasted any time there's a breeze. I was so excited to not only see them in cake form but also that it specifically states that it attracts both bluebirds and cardinals. AHHHH! I love that. It's currently winter here, so I won't be seeing any bluebirds...but I'm extremely excited to get this set up in my bird feeding station and see what shows up! Also, these are BIG! I always buy suet cakes that are like a fourth of the size of this!sarar08
