If you are thinking about getting a dual band router, this is a great one to get. With so many devices using the wifi (doorbell, fridge, TV), some need a higher frequency than others. You can have your phones on the 5.0 frequency, & your other devices on the 2.4 Ghz wifi frequency like I do. This router is connected via the included Ethernet cable, to the the house modem, & comes off that. Providing you with the higher frequencies that you may be looking for, or that your cable modem can't deliver. Wifi signal power to make it upstairs, or in the back yard. Whatever your need is. It also give you a few more Ethernet spots to clip into when you need that. Remember, the internet & signal is divided among the users (devices). You want this router to help you better achieve this for those devices. Yes, if you use a longer cable, or connect this via an in-line electrical outlet internet transfer(internet over copper wire) device, you can easily extend the wifi to even more places. I tested it both ways & it did fine. Look for them here at Walmart, they work great with this router. This Linksys router hooks up that easily. I also connected right to it wirelessly, via my laptop; no longer needing an Ethernet cable to log in initially. The only thing missing on this router, from my current dual band router network, is a USB slot. Currently I plug in a sizeable thumb drive & use it as a network drive for my other devices. This router doesn't have that feature. What it does have, is something that has been around for some time, & is gaining in popularity. Ethernet for your private cloud drives. You can either pick up an Ethernet enabled drive, or plug your external disks into a (USB to Ethernet) converter & make a private cloud on your network. I want to say that this router is very small. I took a picture of it on my laptop, next to an sd card for scale. It's about half the size of the modem & my other router. This is fantastic for those who use a shelf to mount their routers. I also want to mention that there are very few lights blinking or being on. There is a signal light in the back of this Linksys N600 router. So if lights have been an issue before, that has been dwindled down to a tiny light dot, that may not be seen or in the way for you.

Better in small spaces
I received Linksys E2500 N600 Dual-Band WiFi Router and I'm disappointed to say that I wasn't impressed. The actual set-up was easy as it included a Cisco Connect CD. Yet the range was very short and not good at all. I believe this product would work well in small spaces like a dorm room but anything more than that would just not work.

    Best Wifi router for the price.
    After hooking up router and setting up connection to my devices, I have noticed improved wifi speed and signal. The adjustable antennas is a plus being that my router is located in my bedroom I can point the signal towards my other devices it also has beam forming technology included.

    The Linksys Dual-Band WiFi Router is compact and sort of stylish. It can be connected to the existing modem or modem-router. It's supposed to boost your internet speed. It comes with a short black cord (Ethernet type) to connect it to your modem or existing router as well as the electric cord. It has a 3 fold pamphlet with the instructions (with pictures) to hook it up. This router is easy to install and use. There are also tips on the back of the pamphlet. I followed the instructions and it works really good. I don't know if it actually boosted the speed of my internet, but it has helped with the range in my house. I have owned Linksys products before and they are very good. I would recommend this WiFi router.

    Amazing Router with Great Range
    Can I just say how much I love this Linksys router? The Linksys E2500 N600 Dual-Band WiFi Router is compact but extremely powerful. Besides the strong output this router puts out, the best part was how easy it was to set up. The software that comes with the router is much easier to navigate than any other router I’ve owned and is surprisingly easy to log in and change your internet settings. Without a doubt, the best feature of this router is the dual band compatibility, letting you have both a 2.4g and 5g wireless connection with different network names and separate passwords just in case you want to set parental restrictions or separate passwords for one and not the other. Once we installed it in our back living room, I was still able to go out to the street and sit on my laptop with a STRONG WiFi connection. It has 4 ethernet cable ports and two adjustable antennas. The box says that the speed is 600 MBps. I work from home and this has been a great reliable router so far. I’m very happy with this product and would happily recommend it to my family or my friends.

    Simple setup for great router
    I received the Linksys E2500 N600 Dual-Band WiFi Router through the Spark reviewer program. I waited for my daughter to connect it for me, thinking I would not be able to. Well, she got sick, so I had to do it myself. It was a piece of cake. So so easy. Well, since I'm getting rid of Spectrum home tv service, I needed a router To use for my internet. I just took the cables out of the Spectrum modem and inserted them In my new modem. Then I went to my phone And clicked on setup. I named my frequencies Names I would remember and gave them passwords. The I went to settings and selected The name I wanted for the WIFI. And that was It. It was up and running. Worked great on both Frequencies. Not much else I can say except A child could set up this modem. It works great For all my devices after I told them the modem name and password. Highly recommend this Router.

    Excellent alternative to a rental !!
    Linksys E2500 N600 Dual-Band WiFi Router is a fantastic alternative from renting a router from my internet provider !!! Super easy to set up, simple push button connect. Comes with 4 Ethernet ports. 600 Mbps speed with double the bandwidth. Firewall and encrypted for security. Guest access is a definite plus ! Smaller streamline design, Very pleased !!

    It's a descent router
    I'm changing my router from a single band to a dual band to have the option of using our Roku streaming stick, computer, laptop, wireless printer, and smartphones all at the same time, without constant interference. Set up was easy, just took a few minutes, has a slim design, and easy to place in small areas. This Dual-Band Wi-Fi Router E2500 N600, is made by “Linksys”, it has all the basics of what is required to run several devices at the same time. It's a no frills' router, but it gets the job done, the signal is great. Data transfers fast, 54 Mb per second, so we can live chat with our grandkids, surf the web, play off, or online games in a flash without any problems. The security settings can be customized, it has 4 Ethernet ports, on the back, 2 antennas with a good range that goes throughout our entire home. The wpa/wpa2 encryption and SPI firewall help keep your network protected. The only draw back to this router is the lack of status LEDs on the front. It would be nice to see if it is powered up, or if the wireless is working or not, etc. (4 stars) My single band router has numerous LEDs to show what's going on with it, this I will miss, but over all, it's a descent router, and does well for what we need.

    I've had this Linksys N600 dual band router for about a week. The setup didn't work the way it said to do it in the paper that came with the router. If I remember the same thing happened with the last Linksys router I had. They tell you to disconnect your old router then connect to the new one, then go on-line to finish the setup. But you can't go on-line because the router don't work until you finish the setup. I had to hook up my old router to get on-line then search how to do the setup. It was easier on this router to customize my password than on the old router. And I could easily have a separate name and password for each of the dual bands. Once that I got it setup then it worked great. With my old router my wife's I-phone couldn't get any WiFi outside the house. Now she can. It works good with all our streaming devices, phones and computers. If it wasn't for the headache at setup I would have given it a 5 star rating.
