Better Than I Expected!
After receiving the new Linksys Velop whole home intelligent Wi-Fi system in the mail, I was not expecting much at all. Don't get me wrong, I love the Linksys routers that I have owned in the past and I still use one to this day. I always seem to end up with another Linksys router when upgrading to a newer one, from all my research beforehand. They seem to always be at the top of the pack. Anyway, I thought that the “Mesh Wi-Fi system” was just an add-on to the router that I already had. So I was not expecting to replace it at this time. But after downloading the Linksys app to my iPhone and removing the older router and following the setup of the first node, I was back up and running in no time. Then adding the other nodes to the system was even easier. Just log in to your app and add a new node and your off and running. I received the 3 pack, so I placed them around my 3 bedroom house and found that my Wi-Fi does seem to run much better than before. I do not have a fast internet speed from the cable company and it seems to always be buffering a movie when I try to watch something during prime time. But I was pleasantly surprised that I do not notice that anymore. Not sure if that's the newer technology or just the moon aligning with Jupiter. But boy am I happy! The only thing that I would have liked to see is some way to add more of the Ethernet cables to the system without having to buy another device.

Increased Wifi Signal!
This is a great product to extend your current wifi signal throughout your home. I have had trouble with my current wifi reaching all areas of my house. I always seemed to have connection problems when I was 50-100 feet away from my router. My wifi signal would be weak and my download speeds would be 1/2 or 1/3 of my regular speeds. Now that I have installed this mesh system, I do not have any connectivity issues. The set up of this system is user friendly but does require you to have a smart phone to download their app. Once you download the app your need to follow the instructions to set up the system for the first time. It took about 20-30 minutes to complete the whole process. The app is also great to set up permissions and block certain content on the wifi networks. This is a great tool if you have kids and want to limit the content. This system supports up to 100mbps, which is a common speed for most households. One thing I noticed when setting up the system is that you should place the nodes in an open area. If you hide them behind something or block them then the signal is affected and the download speeds will be reduced. Overall this is a great product for larger homes that have issues with wifi access throughout the whole home.

    This three piece system was so easy to install . It has a well designed app for iOS . The app has a dashboard screen which shows you many things like how many devices are connected, guest access etc . Also like the sleek design.

    Great execution, and a breeze to install!
    A Wifi Mesh System is a little hard to explain to the layman, but I'll do my best in order to help illustrate the rest of the review. The difference between using a router and extenders to supply a large house with WiFi and using a mesh system is a complete difference in execution. Routers and the aptly named extenders extend the range of the router to fill more space. A mesh system is basically three routers all working in sync, constantly communicating with each other in order to maximize performance while keeping the range that extenders provide. The problem with extenders is that performance still is based on the distance from the router, not the extender. The signal is being extended for more devices to use it, but they still deal with that signal/connection being exponentially less efficient the further from the actual router you become. It is plain to see that Mesh systems (while generally) more expensive, are the preferred method for maximum coverage and performance over a large area. I will breakdown the use of this product into categories. 1. Installation – It was as easy as breathing. Just plug it up, and follow the instructions to get the device into setup mode for the main device (you can use any of the three nodes provided). 2. Presentation – The nodes themselves are wonderful, looking both classy and sleek at the same time, with an LED to help show connection status. 3. Performance – Wonderful, I ran speed tests from my phone in every corner of my home and walking around the perimeter and detected little to no drop off in performance. Do you need this product? If your house is larger than 2000 square feet and you have issues with connection speed/performance, then yes! If your house is smaller than that, you probably just need to pick a more central location for your wireless router. Some houses are set up in inconvenient ways for that to be feasible though, and this product could still be useful to you if your house falls into that category. Conclusion – 5 out of 5. This thing is easy to set up, looks great, and just plain works. What more could you want?

    A wonderful breeze to set up, works great
    Download an app to your phone, plug it in and connect the base unit. Then you put the other nodes in the spaces where your signal is struggling, and voila! You have far superior coverage than you once had. The cool thing is, as you walk through your home you don't have to keep changing what wi-fi SSID you connect to; it automatically connects to the strongest node. You only have to connect to the one name on your list. Ingenious system.

    Excellent system
    I'm not a techy so I was worried I'd have trouble setting this system up but it's just like it says Easy Setup. I installed the Linksys Velop setup app into my iPhone and the app pretty much guides you through the installation procedure. It also works on android phones. I removed my external router which is not needed any more. You have to plug in the supplied ethernet cord into anyone of the nodes and the other into the internet providers modem. You do have to change the new Wifi info in all your devices to the new Linksys system after you've completed the process. That took more time then installing the 3 nodes. After the first one is synced up you just have to repeat the process to activate the other 2 at different locations. I put one in basement, first floor office and second floor bedroom. During setup process the app on your phone will let you know if the locations selected are in the best spots for coverage. The coverage is up to 4500 sq. ft. Each node has 2 ethernet jack so if a device doesn't work wireless it can be plugged into the node. A 110vac receptacle will be needed close to the placement of each node. I usually prefer an ethernet connection but as far as the speed I can't tell the difference. It claims to be self healing with automatic updates.

    This set of 3 Linksys Velop Whole Home Intelligent Mesh WiFi System is what every active household needs. The first positive thing is about the functionality of this system. There are many systems like this out on the market today that claim to be 'easy to set-up' and provide great coverage. This Linksys system really does do just that. One of the best things is the 'ease of use'. In laymen's terms, plug one node into your modem, follow the easy to follow instructions in the 'app' and you're all set. The remaining nodes can be placed wherever you need WiFi coverage, just plug them into an electrical outlet and off you go. You can set these units or nodes anywhere in your house. This set of 3 has the capacity to provide WiFi coverage for up to 4,500 square feet! That range takes me out to my car and all the way into my backyard with no problem at all. Each unit or node is the perfect size to fit in those areas where we need WiFi but don't want to have to hide a large, unsightly unit. Each node is white and measures 5 1/2" tall by 2 3/4 wide at the base. As you can see in the picture, it blends well and is not intrusive in any decor. Another great thing about this Linksys system is there is no need to figure out which node goes to the modem and which node goes elsewhere. On the bottom, each node has the same hook-ups and ports, such as Ethernet, 12 V hookup, on-off switch, reset button, and password. So, so easy to manage! This set is the 3 node, Linksys Velop Whole Home WiFi system for basic internet plans. It is the dual-band series #AC3600. This system has a 3-year warranty with 24/7 customer support. Requirements for set-up is that you need an internet connection with a modem or modem-router and you have either iOS or Android devices with a data connection in order to run the Linksys WiFi app. I would recommend this to anyone with issues of sluggish, spotty or inefficient WiFi coverage.

    Amazing Home Networking System
    This system is pretty amazing so far. I've only been using it for less than a week, but I'm definitely impressed so far. I'm a tech person, so I love such products and have tried many. This system was very easy to setup (I used the iOS app). This comes with 3 nodes that once plugged in take a little time to be ready for pairing (the longest part of the process which is about a minute or a little more for each node). Each node is small and compact which is great. I had a wireless router connected to my modem, so one node replaced the router. I've attached an image of the speed tests comparing my connection with my existing router versus this system. It's crazy how different the results are. This system allows me almost double the download speed. I was pretty shocked as I thought I was getting a decent download/upload speed with my old router. The compared speeds are with 6 devices attached (2 of which were streaming Netflix and Directv Now). I would definitely recommend this system to anyone. I'm impressed. Great job, Linksys!

    Great whole house Wifi..
    Perfect answer for wifi (in house drop zones)!The app was fairly easy to use and understand. The 3 units allow me to have great coverage in my house and will have a strong signal all the time. I like that I can have them spread out in my home so I don't get dropped wifi.

    The good folks at Linksys company sent me this "3 pack nodes " LINKSYS " VELOP AC3600 WHOLE HOME WI FI SYSTEM". This will help you get the best use out of your internet with excellent reception everywhere throughout your home. This model "Velop AC3600 "is required to have a internet plan with connection with a "modem" or "modem/router and to "complete setup " the" Linksys app is required" and is available for iOS and Android. These units are set up for your basic internet speed up to 100 Mbps, and the "Velop AC6600" up to 300Mbps. These 3 units are suited for a house that is 3 to 4 bedrooms or 4500sq ft and they also have as well, 1 and 2 units available for smaller homes. I opened the box to see "3 well designed "white" 3x3x5inch nodes, and I understand it comes in black also, and with a box containing "3 power cords" and the all important Ethernet cable, and with a "quick start guide". This guide will walk you through each step, which is simple, and will show the "different node lights" and what they mean. I went ahead downloaded the linksys app and started setup of my first node. I connected "node 1" in my living room with my modem/router, powered up, a small "blue light" on top of the unit comes on, then to" purple" showing ready for final setup then it starts blinking indicating "setup in progress", you then "open app" on phone, log in, go to "set up new product" in main menu select "add node", it will look for your node, and begin your settings. Only "your first node" will require the Ethernet cable, and then "node 2" in master bedroom, the "3rd node" in guest bedroom only require the power cord. That way I'm fully WiFi covered thorughout my home. The simultaneous working "Duel Band" wifi system with WPA2 personal encryption, bluetooth 4.1 , with a 716 Mhz quad-core processor with 2 auto sensing ethernet ports in each unit. The LinkSys App makes setup simple, place your nodes, name your network, choose password, your ready. It also has "automatic software updates" and will always remain up to date and secure. I'm really impress with the setup and speed of this system and I can't wait to really see what this system can do and to see how you can adjust your own personal settings right on your phone.
