it is too small to cover bacon! unless
you cut the strips in half before cooking-- clever! of lodge so people will buy 2 of them! ok for a single hamburger patty or 1 small sandwich. the larger [ more expensive ] round one is a better choice for several bacon strips in a skillet-- but bacon will stick to the cast iron if you don't pre grease the metal press before use. flattens bacon but it is still a bit of hassle to use and bacon grease splatters everywhere as you can't use a skillet cover over the press due to the handle. [ handle must be attached after purchase so you need some simple tools.] handy but more work to clean yet another greasy tool.

Will make you look like a pro!
Great for making perfect bacon and hamburgers on the griddle. Very durable - you can hammer nails with it if you had to!

    Never wears out!
Excellent for inside drying like bacon, or outside on the grill.

    Makes burgers fast
excellent to make burger patties and even steaks. Just one minor though, the unit should have included a lock washer, because the handle becomes loose and I had to tighten. Otherwise, a very good weight.

Why did I wait 40 years to get one of these?
This is great! Even browning of burgers, pork chops stay flat in the pan when browning, peameal bacon, chicken breast. I use it on everything that needs to be evenly browned and cooked (without curling) in the frying pan. Wonderful gizmo, I should have bought one long ago.

    cast iron grill
I used it in my cast iron with the ridges. I been wanting one for a long time and enjoy using it. I used it on hamburgers so far. I would recommend this to my friends.

    Very durable grill press
Solidly made and works well, but be aware that the handle has to be attached to the bottom plate by the customer. Lodge provides all necessary hardware and it is fairly simple to do, but the photo on Wal-Mart web site shows the assembled product, not the parts they send you to put together.
