Louisville 10-12 foot attic stairs
I chose these stairs (22 1/2 width) so I wouldn't have to cut my attic trusses (24" spacing 2x4s). They were installed in my garage with an eleven foot ceiling. I picked up the attic stairs at my local Walmart in case there was damage in shipping (would have refused it then and there). The quality of the ladder was high and the installation was straightforward. You will need two people for installation. The hardest part was getting the box up the regular ladder into the attic. We used deck screws instead of the provided nails. We also used temporary 2x4s to hold the ladder in the opening instead of the provided "metal hangers" - watch one of the many UTube Videos. Make sure the installer in the attic has all the tools he needs including shims before placing the attic stairs in the opening. As installed, you need a step ladder to open and close the ladder like the other reviews indicated. I will experiment with putting another eye-bolt on one of the other steps to help opening and closing using just the provided extension pole. Overall I'm very happy with this purchase.

What happened to quality control?
This is the second Louisville ladder I have ordered. The first was from Lowes and it arrived broken. Switched to Walmart thinking I'd have better luck..No chance. It too arrived broken. Each ladder was delivered by a different shipper. Hummm.

4.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser04/29/2020Great stairs at the best price I could find.Very well built and easy to install. I would like to let know you should buy the widest staircase that you can install in your space. This one is very narrow so it's hard to get most boxes up since they're wider than the staircase. But I had space restrictions so this fits perfectly for my needs.anonymouShopper

1.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser08/04/2019Quality is questionable...The ladder is very flimsy. I hired a professional to come and install it for us. Very disappointed in the quality and the stability of this ladder. I would have returned it if it was not already installed.Av

2.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser05/14/2019So so attic ladder with some design flawsThe ladder was not difficult to install but has two engineering issues. The first minor issue is the springs pull the ladder back up with such force it is likely to damage the assembly if not controlled. The major issue is that if the ladder comes down too quickly (and this happened to me) it will snap the end of the super thin plywood trap door off. Also since everything is riveted together, it is going to require drilling out the metal rivets to replace the board. The insulation is somewhat comical. It is only a small piece of cheap foam board glued to a small section of the plywood trap door. As the door is also not air-tight, it likely provides zero benefit.Isaac

4.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser04/09/2019Nice ladder. Screw the corner before installSturdy as one can expect with a 12' height. Only complaint is the use of staples to assemble the frame. Had to clamp it back square and screw the corners to make it strong. Once installed it won't shift but you can't have it jacked up before the install.jab
