I recommend 3 stage filtration for any aquarium. Penguins are an all in one filter that does a great job. I've run most sizes and have not been disappointed.

Not impressed
I had issues with Aerobic bacteria in my aquarium. After months of unresolved attempts (per professional suggestions) at resolving the problem, I got rid of the Marineland filter/biowheel system. After performing another partial water change, I replaced it with another brand, after approximately 7-10 days, I had nice crystal clear water. I've been using the same system now for 2 years and couldn't be happier. I'm not allowed to name the other brand, but it's also advertised on this site.

What idiot said these filters fit the Biowheel 350
These filters DO NOT FIT in the Marineland 350 Biowheel system by Penguin - I read a review here on the Walmart site saying that they did - They are too small. I guess that is why we should not buy stuff online, and go to the store 1st, then, use those specs to buy online.

    Sadly, Poor Quality.
Unfortunately I purchased Eight cases of the C sized cartridges and every one has such small sized granules of carbon that a majority of it comes out from between the slits of the black plastic cartridge frame causing it to float on top of the water terribly. Luckily I have some baskets from my old penguin 330's (the 350's I have don't come with baskets or places to mount them) so I could purchase and add larger chunks of carbon in them to keep the water clearer as there is little carbon remaining in the cartridges that hasn't came out between the slits. I'm stuck with six cases (6 cartridges each) of these cartridges as the store would not let me return them. It looks as if I'll have to construct my own cartridges for all of my penguin systems. Sadly, Marineland used to be my favorite brand of aquarium products but besides the filter cartridges I've had problems with other items as well, especially their tank heaters.

    Great product
I have been running these my Marineland 350's (6) for quite awhile and they are still going strong and doing a good job. The cartridges are good and are reusable. I clean mine in tank water and drop them back in the filter housing. I use the refillable media cartridge in the second slot on each side for whatever chemicals if needed. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0009YHSE8/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

    I hop they never discontinue
My water is perfect in PH......what else can I ask. I use two pumps per tank. One in the smaller one. I made a mistake with some substrate and the waster was milk. Within about an hour the tank was just about to normal. I love that this helps me with the effort of keeping a clean crystal PH balanced tank. Thank-you

    Easy to Change
Changing the filter is easy. I actually wash my filter out and reuse them a few times.

    Great product!
I work at a store full of pets and I always recommend these guys filters to my customers. I personally have them in both my 10 and 20 gallon tanks. I even tried another filter and while it might have been quieter, the filter didn't compare to how clean and clear the water looked with this filter. I also tend to go a filter bigger( 10 gal has 20 gal filter and 20 gal filter has 30 gal filter) so it just helps even more. The bio wheel is something that you NEVER want to touch. B/c that parts hard to find to replace and can get pricey. these products can be pricey but it is worth it in the long run. I don't overcrowd my fish and only change the filter media every 3 months. Every month I rinse off the stuff on the media and reuse. But overall its a great product def worth the money and their customer service was AWESOME and actually knew about the products they sold and what they didn't sell. So thats a big thing, it was hassle free for me when I bought the kit and filter was dead. They got my info and bam I was sent another one. But really great company, I won't be turning away from their products anytime soon!

    Tired of the headaches
I'm tired of cloudy water! This has been going on since early spring. The only time the water starts to clear is when the filter is becoming plugged and approx. half of the water flow begins to bypass the filter. As soon as I change the filter, the water becomes heavily clouded again. Because nobody has been able to come up with a solution to this problem, I'm going to remove the filtration system all together and take an all natural approach to clean, clear water. I'll report my progress so that others out there with this extremely annoying problem have an alternative other than mechanical water filtration.
