I have tried several timers, best one so far!
Excellent timer, it lets you schedule watering as low as every hour, which most timers will not let you do. It is the workhorse to watering my garden!

If it works, it will save you time and money!
I have used various plant watering timers over the years and I find that the four zone automatic watering timers either fail initially or within a few weeks. I find that fully operating timers do the job, however, the biggest issue is functionality. Key points are: how easy is it to setup a watering schedule, does it remove all the guess work, is it simple to managing multiple watering's and zones in one day, and how easy is it to just turn on the manual button? The oversize screen and large buttons make it easy to read and simple to operate. It is a breeze to setup, you can be up and running in literally a couple of minutes. Once I installed the batteries, the date/time, and establish the water start times, duration, and how often in each zone (4), I hooked it up to my garden water source. This timer failed right out of the box to operate correctly in the manual mode and two out of four zones. I tested the manual mode first, by selecting manual mode and then a specific zone. Zone three and four would direct water flow to both (3 & 4) zones at the same time. I then tested the normal timer mode and found that zone one would not shut off at the designated time and zone three failed to open 3/5 times. I truly dislike giving Melnor a poor review for its four-zone water timer, as I really do use several of their single zone timers, my favorite name brand and model. I have found that the single water zone water timers are more reliable and thus have less chance of causing a lot of damage to plant life, if the unit fails. Based on how many times you have your timer start each day, you may have to change the batteries every two-three months; I change mine every two months, regardless – cheap security. It does offer (not tested) a Rain Delay to pause the watering for up to seven days and it will automatically start again when the delay is over. Now, you have to set it to not water based on the weather report; a possible water saver, but I rarely trust the weather report! It would be nice if they could add on a true rain sensor, which could measure the rainfall and determine if it should skip the next watering. Melnor is a solid product brand name, based on this test it seems the four-zone water timer is a product requiring more work on their electronics, which is why I gave it a one-star rating.

    Watering Dream
This water timer was easy to set up and program after installing the 2 AA batteries. There are many timing options to choose from. You can set it up to start and stop at specific times or specific time duration. There is also an option to turn it off and on manually with just the push of a button. It is easily adaptable to whatever kind of water device you wish to employ. Whether it be a hose, sprinklers, etc. If you don't want it to go on automatically, it has a rain delay feature that will delay watering for up to a week, depending on your forecast. We like to use it in our shady beds where we need regular watering. It attaches & detaches easily so we can move it to other water features without a problem, if needed, which we regularly do.

    Very easy to use
My kids are currently working on a Botany class for their science and we decided to start a small garden to go with the class. Sometimes the class itself tells you what to plant and we were having trouble keeping up with each area's watering schedule. Some things were best watered in the morning while others preferred evening. Some were requiring water every day and some every other day. Our solution came with this watering timer. It is so easy to program just put each zone, how long, how often and when. That easy. We got this several weeks ago and installed it on our garden. Then the South Texas flood of 2018 hit us. Our garden was destroyed. As soon as it was dry enough to clean it out, it poured on us again. This went on for a few weeks. It was finally been dry enough to get our garden working again. This time, using this timer from the beginning has made our gardening much easier. We connected soakers and buried them on the one strip where the ground has to be very wet. Hopefully our watermelons and cantaloupe will be very juicy when they come out. The other plants don't require as much watering. Still, we decided to grow the size of our garden which means it's now in separate areas. Thanks to the 4 zones, keeping everything watered still makes it easy for us. We set it, and it waters itself. I think this time, we will have a good outcome from our garden.

    Works as it should
Before getting this Digital water timer I had only used manual ones. It took me a minute to understand it and make sure I was doing it right. I like the convenience of water timers, but I wanted to see if there was a huge difference between a manual timer and a digital timer. I like that you can set it up so that it starts watering the garden in case you are going out and then it'll shut off automatically. The screen is pretty big so you can see very clearly what you are selecting. Once you have set up the initial steps it gets pretty easy from there. Pretty simple to operate which I like, I hate complicated technology. It does require batteries, I'm not sure how long they will last, I've been using this timer for about 3 weeks and I haven't changed the batteries yet, it still works just fine. I only water my lawn and garden twice a week though, probably the more you water your lawn the less your batteries will last. So far I'm happy with it and I know I can depend on this to save me some time and water. I do recommend it if you are like me and forget I'm watering the lawn once I go inside the house haha)

    Love this timer
I love this timer. I have my hose attached to it and it automatically turns on at 6am (next start time shown in the photo) and remains on for the time I indicate. If I need to use the hose at other times, I simply press the "manual" button and it will allow the water to flow through the hose for the time I have pre-programed. I can change this pre-programmed time based on my needs each time I use it by touching the up or down buttons to increase or decrease required minutes. I have the hose hooked up to a soaker hose to water my garden every morning. This is really a time saver and it works very well!

    Good Programmable Water Timer
The Melnor Aqua Timer does what it's supposed to. It turns the water on and off on to whatever schedule you input. It sure beats going out and turning the sprinklers on and off by hand every time. There are 4 available zones but you don't have to use all of them if you need less than 4. They say the programming is intuitive but, until you get familiar with the buttons and do it the first time, there might be a bit of a learning curve. I've done it several times now and have no problems but that first time was a little bit of a challenge. (I'm an old person.) The unit is quite compact and made out of rugged plastic material which should hold up fairly good over time. It takes 2 AA batteries. I haven't had to replace any batteries yet but I am keeping my eye on the battery indicator to let me know when that will be needed. The only down side to the unit, which really isn't a factor once you start using it, is that the outputs are not labeled. Once you figure out zone 1 is on the left side you are good to go for the rest. Time and longevity is a top consideration when purchasing this kind of equipment. The fact that the unit comes with a 7 year warranty makes me feel a little bit safer in purchasing this unit verses one with just a 90 day warranty.

    This is a necessity!
This is so convenient all I have to do is move the sprinkler after each watering and it will water at the same time every day or every other or third day, or every other hour, etc., 24 cycles per day, whatever my watering schedule is. It works with drip systems and soaker hoses also. I don't have to worry about forgetting to turn the water off if it is not in view, that makes watering not a chore. This will keep the areas regularly watered with only minimal effort and makes lawn maintenance less of a burden. It is very easy to set up and use all the features. There is a clock on the timer and at a glance I can see the time. There is a manual watering feature that I can use for additional watering and set it for 30 minutes or as long as I need to use the hose then it will turn off automatically, no extra work to remove any connections. It is very easy to navigate the menu and use any feature. There is a rain delay which I have been using quite frequently, it is no hassle to set it for one, two days, up to seven days that I don't need to water. It can even be turned off, or reset to change your watering schedule. I will never go back to the old fashioned way of watering again.

    Easy to set-up water timer
The Melnor AquaTimer is a four-zone water timer that works with all standard spigot and hose systems. It has many useful ways to water my lawn, flower beds, and my garden. It is perfect that I can schedule four different areas at different times, multiple times, and even days. It was very easy to set up and program. It has a large LCD screen that helped so much. I can switch to use the hose and sprayer without going through a long process to change things and then have to reset everything. I was able to water the garden with my sprinklers. I used my soaker hoses that run through the flower beds. The rain delay feature makes saving water so easy. It was simple to change the automatic watering off because I didn't need to water for five days while we had lots of heavy rain. It comes with a seven year limited warranty. I really like this product. I am amazed at how quick and easy it was to program and how many different, useful settings there are. It is a product that does what it says it will. It keeps everything watered without wasting a drop of precious, costly water. I do recommend it.

    A nifty watering tool..
The AquaTimer is an automatic water timer which is easy to setup and program. Simply install 2 AA batteries (not included), set the clock using the plus/minus buttons while viewing the LCD screen, select time to start watering, select how long to water, how often to water then you will be in the Auto Mode. It also has a rain delay to can set to delay from hours to days or you can set it to be in manual mode, set length of time and the valve will open inside the timer. To note, make sure you have the water at faucet turned on or it will not work which is what I did. You can also reset it to default settings. I love this water device! I have mine set to come on every other day for 20 minutes to water my grass and little garden. At the bottom of the screen will display the battery status as to how much charge is left before batteries are drained. I did read in the instructions, not to use in 40 degree or below and to store in a safe dry place. My how technology makes our life easier. I love this nifty watering tool !!!
