This Will Keep Me Warm
I got this heater in the summer to get ready for the cold winter. There are several things I like about the heater. First of all, it is pretty effective to use natural gas. It can heat up areas up to 1,000 sq. feet. Secondly, it can be wall mounted or free standing. The feet and mounting hardware is included. Thirdly, the heater is safe. It has electronic ignition, a built-in thermostat, and a low oxygen safety shut-off. It works without electricity and requires no outdoor venting. It employs radiant heat that works by warming people and objects instead of the air, which in turn warms the space, much like the sun warming your hands or your face on a cold day with direct infrared heat. The heater weighs about 25 pounds and it has bottom stands so it can be used even in a carpeted room. Installation was not difficult but I did not install the heater myself since it had to be attached to the natural gas line. The licensed technician came and installed it for me making sure that there were no gas leak or smell while the heater is operating. The gas usage is minimal with so much warmth coming out of the heater so I do not worry much about my gas bill during the winter.

Does not work
I bought this last year for my father for Father's Day for his hunting camp. He is getting to old to take care of a woodstove. He waited till October to hook it up, it does not work, and it was to late to return. I'm very unhappy, and would advise people not to buy this.

    Great deal very happy!
    The box arrived slightly damaged but it is well packed so it didn't damage the heater. I have both Dyna Glo and Mr. Heater heaters. For the price Mr. Heater gets my vote because they come with legs and a thermostat. As for another review I saw here I had no problems connecting the hose. I purchased an elbow flare and a adjustable regulator hose.

    Awesome heater.... but
    I got this heater for my double car garage. It has great reviews but there are a few things that could be better. 1. Include the doggone hose and regulator. Tractor Supply has the best price if you need the regulator and hose. TSC even includes the fittings and tape. Mine was $48 and comes with 12 foot hose. 2. Directions call for 4 self tapping screws to attach the feet. Spend the 25 cents and include them with the other parts that I did NOT need. 3. Include which way the battery goes with the lighting instructions instead of a footnote at the end of the troubleshooting section. Don't make it difficult! KISS! Now for the good stuff. Yes you have to bleed the hose for about a minute on first start to get the air our of the line. That is plainly stated in the instructions! The heat output is awesome. Glows and you can feel the heat from several feet away. I blower might do better but mine is low to the concrete floor and heat rises so I don't need a blower for mine. Yes I would purchase again. I like that it is not as loud as salamander heaters.

    Nice Quality Heater
    We just got this Mr. Heater Vent Free heater this Summer, so it is an odd time to check it out, but I wanted to make sure it worked before the weather turned cold. I had my better half install it, because I am still a little cautious around gas appliances. We placed it in on an outdoor porch that has only one vent and stays on the cold side. After installing, it started right up, and heated the room up quickly. I think we will have no problems having a toasty room this Winter.

    Feelin' Hot Hot Hot
    This heater does require a little bit of assembly before you can just open the box and use it. Assembly takes about 30 to 45 minutes and is pretty straightforward. Once you get it set up and hook up your gas you just turn the switch and within minutes you have really hot air. The heater is nice looking enough to be in the house but also a great option for outside if you need to take it outside. It's off lots of heat and has different modes so you don't have to have it super hot if you don't want it super hot.

    Good for the coldest winter
    It is not the right time of the year to get this. I believe it will help in the really cold days. It started really easy with a electronic ignition. It could heat up pretty easy for a 1000 square feet space. You can mounted it to the wall or on the floor with including pieces. It has oxygen sensor so it is safe to use.

    Effective heater
    This heater is fairly large in size and can really put out a lot of heat. It was easy to set up, 4 screws put on the feet or you can attach it directly to a wall. It's easy to use and keeps my room effectively warm. It doesn't weigh a lot, so if you need to move it around it should be doable. Great product!

    Natural gas radiant heater.
    The 30,000 BTU Radiant Heater made by Mr Heater is just what I need to keep my large sunroom warm in the cold winter months. This heater can heat up to three thousand square feet of space. My sunroom is 320 square feet so this will easily handle the job. I like having an electronic ignition to make lighting it so easy. One of my favorite features is the thermostat setting. No need to have to check and adjust up and down. Just set it and it will keep the room at the temperature that is comfortable. This is especially useful for overnight when it gets below freezing. I have a lot of plants in my sunroom that cannot withstand freezing temperatures. Where I live outside venting is not required. You should make sure where you live. The radiant heater is very safe, has a front grill and only low actual flames. Safety wise it has excellent features like an automatic low oxygen shut off. It can be wall mounted with the included hardware or you can use the included hardware to use the feet for placement on the floor. This model, MHVFRD30NGT . F299831 does not come with a blower fan but one can be bought separately. You should make sure of local regulations before buying this type of heat source. It is not meant for bathrooms, bedrooms, or recreational vehicles. I got the natural gas model but it comes for other types of gas as well. Be sure to pick out the right type of gas setting. I know this will give years of comfort with the heat and warm glow it gives to the room. Best of all I know it is reliable and safe. I recommend this product.

    Sturdy, well made. But a bit tricky to install
    This propane heater does not come with a shut off valve and hose. It says you must use a shut off valve if direct connecting to a tank. The directions do tell you what size hoses will work though. Also the hose goes in at the bottom. The heater does come with screws and parts, but they are not well labeled so it is a bit difficult in trying to follow directions to use them in putting it together. The ignition button needs to be unscrewed for the battery to be placed. Installing that part was easy enough. It is really well made and solid. The heater is big for a lot of heat!

    Perfect for Texas grid outages
    I hope we don't get one but the next power outage in the winter we get in Texas will NOT be a cold one in this house! We will have this sucker ready to go. Gave it a test run and it is so hot and fills the space we need it for with warmth. Sleek design and fairly easy to use. I didn't notice a major smell but will of course be careful with it in the house.

    Warmth in the Cold
    Great for a garage or work shop. My husband is looking forward to using this heater. Our garage is 1200 sq ft so this should be perfect. Easily wall mounted. Says it does not need any outdoor venting. Husband spends a lot of time in the garage so I hope he is happy with this come winter. There is a thermostat to dial in any temperature you want. Right now our temperature has been super hot and humid in our area.
