Love this. Had an older smaller one this is exactly what we needed for our colder adventures. It does suck down the smaller tanks, would definitely recommend buying the adapting hose to hook to a larger tank like a 20 gallon.

poor rateings
This was advertised to run up to 9 plus days on a 20# bottle . I have ran it. I think I have 2.5 days of running time on a tank. This is about 7 days short of the advertised ratings. I feel this over rated big time. Granted , It is a fine product for the price; but very much over rated. Also, after my purchase, I get a glimpse that I need to put a regulator in the system as well. These units are $ 23.00 and some change plus shipping. go figure.

Missing features I bought it for ...
The larger "Mr. Heater Buddy" has a ventilation fan to help get the heat out into the room. This heater was missing that! This is a "key element" to helping heat up an area. I want the one with the fan in it.

    Great heater!
Recently we lost our electricity in an ice storm. This heater kept us very warm! I would definitely buy again!

Mr. Heater Big Buddy It worked well last year but this month im having a problem with it staying lit. It lights up for a minute then goes out. I noticed something was wrong when a slight breeze would put it out 🤷‍♂️ i am very disapointed and this is the cold season. Im not a happy customer

    Very Nice and Effective Heater
I set this heater up in our sunroom (~140 sq. ft. ) which has access to our home through a sliding glass door. Although the sunroom is insulated, the room stay 10 or so degrees below the 70 °F inside. On low setting, this heater makes our sunroom very comfortable to sit and read. I used it first with batteries and ran for 3+ hours (on low) with the fan on to see if it would last. No problems there. Our weather here 6,200 feet ranges from below zero to mid 30's. I bought the ac power accessories so when power is available, I wouldn't deplete the batteries. Although I bought this for emergency power outages, I am now using it when I need a nice quiet place to read or look out at our view of the lake. Very nice heater. Be sure to read the manual for initial setup and safety warnings. The picture of the heater is on the low setting. The other picture should give you the sense of the sunroom size.

    Mr. Heater Big Buddy
I am totally satisfied with this heater because it gets the job done. I like the built in fan that works on batteries or you can buy an optional adapter to plug it in to an outlet. I like that you have a medium setting and the optional attachment of a hose to a 20lb bottle tank.

    Me Heater Big Buddy
This heater is awesome! Hands down the best portable heater on the market! I use the heater during hunting season in a tent. The owners Manuel warns that the unit produces CO but I use a CO detector and in my twelve person tent the alarm doesn't go off. Of corse there is low and hi fresh air vents in the tent for air circulation. Fuel consumption vs heat produced is good as well. Heats my tent literally in five minutes! Way to go Mr Heater! Would defiantly recommend!

    BIG BUDDY a good investment
i am familiar with the buddy heater products. i finally decided to buy the larger --2 panel-- BIG BUDDY for an emergency back-up heater during the upcoming winter months. the smaller ones are ok-- but the BIG BUDDY has a larger capacity to put out lots more heat quickly plus it has a blower [ battery powered OR electric powered with an adapter -not included!] i bought it for $123.98 early Nov. 2014-- then it was reduced to $119.00 mid Nov. 2014 and Walmart credited me the difference -- today i see it is now $136.95. the price changes a lot..and now in season so more costly-- but still cheaper at Walmart.com than many other places,...shop around!! as to use-- IT IS EASY! to use-- just attach 1 or 2 one pound disposable propane tanks-- one to three clicks on the piezo lighter button-- hold it 2-5 seconds to heat the thermocoupler then set to low-medium or high heat and sit back and enjoy INSTANT heat. the blower isn't necessary but ok if you want to eat batteries fast. SO without electric power and the 6 volt transformer [optional purchase] you can get and keep warm as long as you are stocked with propane tanks. BEWARE! this heater puts out some serious HEAT from the front grill-- stay back-- keep kids-pets-flammable items at least 3 feet away or you could have a burn or a FIRE! i raised the temp in a 12 x 12 room from 72 to 83 degrees in less than 30 minutes while testing it just on the medium setting. i'm happy! info here says safe to use inside-- box says not for use inside--i'll use my own judgement as i know how to handle propane items---so DO NOT GO TO SLEEP WITH THIS BURNING INSIDE your home or bedroom!! as any flame consumes the oxygen YOU need-- but with safe use and ventilation i'll use it inside while AWAKE and monitoring its use. ENJOY!!!! ps: new model has two holes on the back so it could be wall mounted-- but BEWARE--heat rises and could burn your ceiling or ceiling tiles quickly.
