Netgear solves my spotty internet service problem.
I had problems with my internet appearing to "pause" every now and then and recalled that my service provider had once advised that if I continue to have problems I should get a Netgear router, which I did. Since then, my Internet has never "paused" again and the speed has been as advertised. Glad I made the switch.

works well, buy if you know how to setup a router
I have been using the Netgear AX1800 for only 3 weeks so cant speak to how long it will last. The router works fine now that it is set up. I gave it three stars because it was not an easy setup. I wanted to set it up through my web browser but I could not get into the router that way. The only thing I could do was to install the Netgear app on my cell phone. The setup was long, way too many questions. Now that it is set up I keep getting email from Netgear trying to sell me stuff.

    The router seems to be great. I haven't had it for long. I really only have two issues. The first is that you have to own a cell phone to set it up yourself or you'll have to call customer service. I don't own a cell phone so that was a bother. The second issue is that the led lights are really bright in a darkened room. This may cause some people issues when trying to sleep if the router is placed in a bedroom. Overall, the price for the features is great.

    Installs easily through app, is very fast and just enough signal coverage for my property (1/3 acre). Handles tablet, two cell phones, and occulus headset (airlink over wifi) without any trouble

    had a few set up issues
    I had to go through the setup 4 times before it would complete and the system worked as it is supposed to. The software is spot on! Anytime someone tries to access the router that has not already been approved for access I get notified, every time a website is blocked for any reason, I again get a notice about the site and why it was blocked. I like that I have full control of individual devices and have authority from the router to restrict devices from certain activities of the internet. Well worth the money!!

    Good quality for a great price
    As someone who has worked in the IT industry for over 20 years, I have seen my fair share of routers for both home and business. Few can compare to the AX1800. The level of edge protection, ease of setup and notifications of threats, and the WiFi power and speed have not been matched by many at this price point. I would tell anyone to look into this router as a choice for their home network!

    Easy. Speedy. Nifty.
    Wow! That is what I said out loud when I first hooked up my new AX1800. Me and the family has just moved to Texas and we had no internet for about a week. We had just subscribed to Xfinitys 1gb connection and had to make sure we had a router powerful enough to hold that much internet. I asked the sales representative at Walmart to point me to the best router they had and, sure enough, he pointed at the right box. This thang is FAST all over. Fast set up, installation, and connectivity. The set up took merely 10 seconds of plugging the cables up. The installation took about a minute and a half on the Nighthawk App. Lastly, the connectivity is ridiculously rapid. All 20 devices of ours including 3 gaming pcs, 4 smart TVs, 6 phones, 2 laptops, a tablet, and 4 smart home devices are connected without any issues or lags whatsoever. Thank you Netgear. Thank you Walmart.

    Good router
    This router was very easy for a non techy person to set up. The app is user friendly and I especially like that I can monitor and chose witch devices are using the network. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because I really don't have any other experience with routers and have nothing to compare it too.

    It was easy to connect and everything. I just had an issue with it disconnecting at the beginning. I unplugged both modem and router from the wall a few times and after a while it started working consistently. Had a problem with my PS4 dropping connection as well and then not pulling up the wifi router as an option when I tried to reconnect. It is all working now. Just had a rocky start.
