Furnace blowing cold air on google Nest heat mode
I have installed nest last Saturday and I have had awful an experience. To start with installation, as recommend I took picture of my old thermostat wiring and did the setup as guided by the app and it went smooth. However on Nest thermostat heat settings the furnace is blowing cold air. I tried several troubleshooting techniques, including charging Nest battery before installation but no luck. After wasting my entire Saturday, I had no other option but to install my old thermostat. Note: My house is a new construction and is less than 6 month old

    Pretty neat gadget, the app is excellent too!
    Very easy to install, I liked that it came with the cover plate, which I used so that it covers the unpainted wall from where the old thermostat used to be. While it can go automatically into eco mode (i.e. higher and lower than normal temperatures to save on electricity, fully customizable setting) I turned that feature off because of the location of my thermostat in a low traffic hallway made the nest think that nobody was home and got hot (it was summer) and I had to go to the app in my phone and turn off the eco mode. The nest has a sensor and anytime you walk in front of it it lights up (wake up) and displays the current temp.

    Beware - bought new unit but was sent refurbished
    I purchased a new unit and Walmart sent me a clearly refurbished one with non-functioning wifi. Decided to exchange it through Google rather than deal with Walmart and their dishonest supplier. Google confirmed this unit was originally sold 2 years ago and already had an expired warranty.

    Was received opened, no instructions. It had been opened previously and screws were loose in box. Immediately returned. And bought elsewhere. Ridiculous.

    Do not buy
    Horrible experience since I've bought it in January. Horrible product. Compressor on ax went out since installing and unit keeps turning off because google nest keeps loosing connection. We have been troubleshooting for the past couple months. This is the first google home product I've bought and will be the last.

    Tons of features!
    The Nest is a really nice thermostat with a bunch of great features to help us save money. However, there can be somewhat of a learning curve with it because of all of the bells and whistles. It is intuitive and starts remembering your patterns after a while, so it can automatically create a schedule for you. Sometimes this isn't what we actually want, so we have found it best to just create a schedule ourselves. We don't currently have any other Google home devices, and it still works great without that added layer of connectivity. My favorite aspect is that it knows if you've walked by recently. If not, you can set it so it won't turn on, therefore saving your energy costs. Overall, it continues to be a good device for us, it has just taken a little time to adjust to all of the cool features!

    This thermostat has been NOTHING but trouble since we bought it. Had to call Google in the summer to get the AC to work and we had to reconfigure the device. Now it's getting cold and the heat won't work. I got an electrician out to work on the device and he had to reconfigure it AGAIN because it was configured incorrectly and had over heat my condenser. Now it's 3:30AM and the heat isn't working AGAIN so he's gonna have to come back again tomorrow. Long story short I'm getting rid of this thermostat, most stressful terrible experience ever. And the electrician said they get complaints about these ALL THE TIME. SAVE YOUR MONEY!

    Avoid nest thermostat at all costs . I had to replace mine within a year . The software in it goes wonky and messes with your heat and cold. It was cold this winter and it would not turn in the heat but turn on the ac and now that it’s summer time it’s messing with the signals to the condenser. Tripped my breaker and made me think I had a bad breaker repeatedly. Ask any HVAC company if they have gotten complaints . They all do! Now I have to pay to install a regular one but I’d prefer reliable over fancy pos.

    We love our Nest Learning Thermostat. We installed it right after we moved into our house and eventually ended up installing another one in our garage. It's so handy to check the temperature of the house as well as change the temp by telling Google. You can also check on the temp of your house from the app. Highly, highly recommend this product!
