Works great, very easy to rapply.
I am selling my house and needed to update my decks (front and back). After sanding and painting the decks, I decided to used Olympic Waterguard Transparent Wood Stain & Sealer. I'm glad I did. It was so easy to apply, dried fast and looks great. Added a nice shine to the decks and I've received compliments from the neighbor, real estate agent and apparently some interested buyers. An easy product to use, adds value to your property fast. I'll be using this at my next home, wherever I end up!

Horrible experience
I bought this for a simple project. The stain looks good but never fully dried. If I rub my hand over the wood, I get brown stain on it. Olympic will only replace the cans I used but not the wood it this stain messed up. I followed the directions and even tried drying it both outside and inside. Olympic tried a few loopholes to say maybe I didn't apply it right. Overall, bad product. Bad experience.

    Not waterproof
    I ran out of Thompson's for the last part of my deck and couldn't get any more. Bought Olympic instead. Rained today. The water is beading on the Thompson's section, but not on the Olympic section. May have just been a bad jug, it looked to have been siting on the shelf for a long time. On the bright side, the color matches pretty well, so it looks fine on a sunny day.

    Amazing!
    This stain worked great for us! We used this on a wood ramp that we have for our barn, it's been there about a year so it's seen it's share of Midwest weather. We power washed it, lightly sanded it, blew it off then it was ready for stain! For the most part, we used a roller and for the cracks and sides we used a brush. The stain was so easy to apply, there where no streaks or dark spots when applying which surprised me. Everything went on evenly and then dried quickly after we were all done. The stain starts darker (or deeper looking) when starting and once it dries the wood really soaks it up and shows it's true tone. The best part was that it didn't take much to stain it and only takes one coat to completely cover it, so once it was coated you are done! We will be using this again to stain our deck on our house once the weather is warm again.

    Love the finish!!
    I helped my friend redo her kitchen floor using pallet wood and ideas from Pinterest. It turned out better than either of us expected! We used Olympic Waterguard for the finish.

    Renew and protect
    We did not have time to finish our project because of Minnesota weather, but very satisfied with the coverage of the Olympic WaterGuard Sem-Transparent stain. I really like the color of acorn brown, covered any imperfections. Two coats later looks like new.

    This stuff stands up to Florida sun.
    Living in Florida with the hot sun year round, it is hard to find a good protection. We have found this brand to hold up. We only have replied 1 time in the past 5 years.

    Fabulous Product!
    We love the Olympic WaterGuard Semi-Transparent Wood Stain and Sealer! We have a 20 foot, all cedar privacy fence that must be maintained and protected against weather and water damage. We are so happy we used this product to protect our fence! We LOVE the results with the Acorn color! It's fabulous. We were able to paint both sides total of 40 feet (that is front and back) x 8 feet tall with about 1 1/3 gallons of the stain, we have typically used two gallons of other products when doing this in the past. Needing to use less was a nice surprise! It was applied with a brush, rather than sprayer. Cedar can be a bit difficult to get into all of the crevices and grooves so painting by hand worked very well. Total time was about 4.5 hours to carefully paint both sides. Clean up was a total breeze! Everything cleaned up quickly and perfectly with soap and warm water! We highly recommend this product for outside, wood protection/staining projects!

    Mix before application!
    I am very happy with the apparent water protection (water beads up an rolls off). But I made the mistake of not mixing the contents of the first container. The directions said to mix together two containers for color matching, but it did not warn me that I needed to mix the stain if using only one can. Also, I did not realize that I could not put on a second coat from another well-mixed can because the first coat will make the second coat bead up and make polka dots. So I could not fix the three-tone appearance of my deck without sanding all over again. I chose the three-tone deck, since the preservation of the deck is my first priority.
