Great Value!
I was very impressed by how nice this looks. I bought it as a gift and was worried that it might look cheap because of the price. It turned out perfect and looks much more expensive than it actually was. I would recommend this as a great gift for those hard to buy for people that like to bake.

This would have been a great gift, but it came to me broken in several places around the top of the jar. The packaging was TERRIBLE and it is no wonder it came to me in pieces! Returning this weekend!

    I bought this as a gift for my son and his family who live 18 hrs away. Not being a every day fixture in their lives it's hard to know what to get them. They are at that stage in life if they want something they just go out and get it. The boys are teenagers and preteen and into ATVs and dirt bikes. It's hard to pick something they will like they don't already have. And then, there's always shipping to consider. Going cross country can cost more than the item itself. I try to get family gifts for them. Everyone loves cookies and not only did I get to put the family name I had room to put the boys names themselves. This is an item they can always keep. It was not very expensive. I have read that the names are done with decals but you don't scrub on a cookie jar so I don't expect a problem with a little care. For the family that has everything and shipping a consideration this looks like a win win. If it is broken as some people had problems I can give my son my account number and password and let him return in texas. There's no negative for me. I'm glad I found this and am sure they will be happy with it to. Just a little more shopping and I will be done. Walmart is the easiest way for me to find and send gifts and this looks like a great one for the family that lives far away and has everything.

    I have bought this no less than 10 times. It's our go to wedding gift. The lettering will come off if you put it too close to the stove or wash the front part too rough. DO NOT PUT IN the dishwasher.

    The appliqué that was not put on well. The whole top is bulging (not laying properly) and looks really, really cheap. The appliqué also put on crookedly. I contacted the company but they do not take returns on personalized items and would not send a new one. I got a 5% discount. I was really upset (I know 1st world problems) because my kids were really looking forward to giving it to my parents as a gift.

    I'd love to give this item a 5* but when I received it today I noticed immediately that what I'd given for my personal inscription was wrong. I wanted 'The Hall's' at the top and 'Hickman-Hall Recipes' at bottom. I made sure I had typed all correct before submitting..what was permanantly on the beautiful cookie jar was: 'The Hall's-Hickman' at top and ' Hall recipes' at bottom. oh well, I guess I'm stuck with it?? I don't know what advice to give you as to how to be sure you will get what you wanted inscribed, but I can say that the cookie jar is very well made and of good quality. The lid is heavy and has rubber around the rim that goes into the top part of the jar so that it will not be broken easily..it actually cushions itself as you push the lid down. love it, but heartbroken about what I really wanted written on it. came in very large box but cookie jar/lid were in another smaller box within the larger one, wrapped well. outer box could have been of stronger cardboard. Expect to wait at least 9-10 days for this to arrive by Fedex.
