Impressive new tech!
I was lucky enough to receive this product for free in exchange for my unbiased review. I have been using a Sonicare electric toothbrush for over 8 years now and have loved it. This toothbrush, however, blows my old one out of the water. At first, I thought that there wouldn`t be anything a newer toothbrush could offer that I wasn`t already getting from my old Sonicare. I was wrong. This product comes with the ability to connect via Bluetooth to the app on your phone, which at first sounded like it would be more of a hindrance than an asset. I also thought it made the product seem pretentious. The handle also has the ability to recognize the type of brush head attached. All of this new technology made me worry that it would be wasting a lot of my time and probably be glitchy. But I had no such issues. The product manual mentioned some models have a USB charging cable on the travel case, which would be nice, but apparently, this model does not include. The travel case itself is nice as it is sturdy and molded to protect your investment. My previous model Sonicare had a flimsy cloth case and once got accidentally turned on while I was traveling. While the charging stand and glass look aesthetically pleasing, I would rather have just had a stand alone. I understand the glass has a separate purpose of using for rinsing, but for me, it is just one more thing I have to keep clean. This product can use 4 different types of brush heads but came with only 3 types: Premium Plaque Control, Premium Gum Care, and Premium White. (The other one is the Tongue Care, which I would not use anyway, as I use a metal scraper and would not want to change.) So far I have used all 3 heads a least 3 times, and I am very impressed. My teeth have never felt cleaner, except when I actually have a dental hygienist clean them. I like that the app can tell me in real time, along with the vibrational changes on the handle itself, when I am using improper pressure or too much movement. I also like that the app shows you exactly where to brush and for how long. With my old Sonicare, I used to count to estimate how much time I had left in each quadrant. No more counting needed! I also feel that it`s easy for me to tune out when I`m brushing my teeth and not pay attention to proper technique. With this handle and app combo, it keeps me awake and alert, which is a nice way to help me wake up in the mornings! I do wish that there was an allotment for the actual bite side (top) of the teeth. I end up just trying to squeeze that in between the insides and outsides. I also know of some Sonicare models that include a method to sanitize the brush heads. With the expense that this model costs, I`m surprised that was not included. Overall, however, I think the handle is comfortable and well constructed, as I have come to expect from Sonicare. I like that there are 4 different cleaning modes on the handle (clean, White, gum health, and deep clean) along with 3 different intensities to choose from. When you first attach a brush head, these settings are chosen for you, but you can easily adjust them as you like. Then there`s the app itself. It has all of the bells and whistles I could think of to help me get the most out of by brushing experience. It has reminders, real-time tracking of your brushing activity as well as the brush head performance, even links to purchase new brush heads when the time comes. You can customize the goals and the trouble areas in your mouth. I`m pretty impressed with the technology and as a self-proclaimed techie, that`s not easy to get out of me. This is a first-rate product, but it does come with a first-rate price. And the brush heads have their own new technology with them so they are a bit pricey as well. However, if you have the money, this is a solid investment and your dentist will probably be proud.

The essential benefit of the tooth brush is using the application and the iOS application constantly crashes or failes to establish a BT connection
Very frustrating and unfortunate to spend 100's of dollars on a tooth brush where the iOS application crashes frequently and/or frequently won't connect to the toothbrush from the iOS application. iOS developer get crash reports of applications and it seems that Phillips doesn't look at these to discover why the application crashes in the middle of a brushing.

    This product is high quality.
I've been using Sonicare for years now and this newest purchase is great. Easy to use, effective, and holds the charge for a long time. I like the various speeds for deep cleaning, sensitive teeth, etc as you can vary your experience to obtain maximum results. I like the charging cup since it is easy storage for the toothbrush as well. The product is very well packaged. All in all, I am very pleased with this product.

    Great brush!
It's a good brush but my daughter has a hard time with the app. I just wish it was programmed to do a three minute brush, she has to do touch up with a manual rush because it's not long enough to get everything in the 2 minute but she has a learning disability so for others it's probably great and long enough.I wish the travel case was powered so I don't have to bring the cup on vacations and to the east coast for we travel all the time for her doctors appointments but I highly recommend

    Electric from manual brush
Used a manual brush for all my life. Thought an electric brush was a joke and worthless. Even when both of my kids have an electric toothbrush they love. After hearing my gum line was deteriorating and teeth becoming more sensitive. I decided to get an electric toothbrush. Been using it for a few months now. Let me say I'm converted from a nonbeliever to a Big Believer/Fan. My teeth haven't felt so good, clean or looked so white in a very long time. I've always had dental teeth cleanings at the dentist. As goofy as it sounds. Having the app to use and see while brushing teeth twice a day is helpful along with kind of fun to do each time. My teeth feel like I've just had my teeth cleaned at the dentist. It will be interesting to see what my dentist and hygienist say on my next cleaning. Last thing I can say is don't be me, try out sooner than later. In my case it has been a surprising shock at how well I've liked it.

Great toothbrush, guided brushing could be better
I am really enjoying my DiamondClean toothbrush. I do think the guided brushing could be improved, as it never seem to fully track my brushing. It may also be that the app does not take into consideration left handed brushing. Otherwise it is working great.

First Timer for Electronic Tooth Brush
My DiamondClean Smart 9300 HX9903/01 Sonic electric toothbrush with the app is an excellent product! I never used an electronic toothbrush until now and it definitely makes a difference in the maintenance of my teeth. I recommend it to all who never used an electronic toothbrush to start today. IT WILL MAKE YOU SMILE!!!!!!!

    Didn't Last
Pretty early on, I noticed mold starting to form between the toothbrush body and the toothbrush head. I Tried to clean this off (scrubbed it) but couldnt quite seem to get all of the gunk off. I shrugged this off and made sure that I would stay diligent about keeping that little space clean after each brush. I did just that, and the mold spot STILL got worse. It's 2 years later now, and although the toothbrush still works fine, I cannot get this mold off and I'm uncomfortable putting this in my mouth (possibly ingesting it). SO! Clean your toothbrush early and often! The moment the mold/mildew starts, you're not getting rid of it.

Everything is good but not the app
Everything was first class. From the packaging, the brushes, and accessories. BUT the app doesn't recognize my brushing my certain sections of my teeth and I end up brushing my teeth a lot longer than two minutes.

    Important Feedback
This is the best toothbrush i've ever had. It supplies the critical feedback I need to know how well i'm brushing and the problem areas I miss. The visual component as I brush is very helpful. After just 2 weeks of use, I got the best dental checkup ever: no plaque, very little tartar and healthy gums. I plan to make this toothbrush a Christmas gift for all my kids and grandkids.
