Phillips Sonicare Essence Sonic electric toothbrush
When I use this product in the morning and at night, my teeth feel really clean. It's that feeling of clean that you get when you go to the dentist for a really good cleaning. Would recommend this product to all who want a superior feeling of clean on your teeth.

The wrong brush head for me.
I have a very narrow jaw, and it is not possible for me to clean properly at the gum line on the "tongue side" of my lower teeth with this brush head. In the past I had another brand with a round brush head and didn't have this problem. Otherwise the machine works very well and performs just as described. No problems with understanding the enclosed instructions, starting it the first time, or in retaining the charge.

Water gets into the body under the brush head attachment
I have had 3 Essence Sonic electric toothbrushes and all 3 leaked water underneath the brush head attachment. I have to unscrew the head after each use so the water can dry. If I don't it starts smelling and gets gross looking after days of use. I like the action of the Sonicare over that of the competition so I will continue to use one but wish the brush head could be made where it didn't leak. And yes, I use the Phillips brush heads and not aftermarket ones.

This product is cute and easy to use
I was so excited when I received this toothbrush. I could feel my teeth cleaner than before. But unfortunately, I didn't have any luck with the charger. I am waiting for the exchanged third charger to arrive. I do not know what is going on every time my device ask for charging, the charge doesnt work. I am very disappointed. I do recommend this sonicare but a different one.

The product works well, but I have a few nits.
This seems to be an older design. If your products provide better cleaning (therefore better dental health results) why don't I have better results from my dentist appointment visits (Still major plaque buildup in spite of aggressive brushing [Sonicare + flossing + additional regular tooth brush use])? The brush charging stand builds up a yellowish residue after just a few days of use and it is hard to remove(where the unit base sits). I clean and dry off the exterior of the unit after each use. The brush has buildup inside where it can not readily be cleaned out( I do have some luck cleaning it out when using an ultrasonic bath cleaner and/or an old-time electric shaver brush that I still have).

Product more powerful than other brands
My teeth have never felt so clean! Cleans better than the other brand I have used. I got a better check up at my dentist, I am very prone to plaque and this does a better job of preventing buildup. Because of the slimmer design it gets to small spaces better than the rounder brushes.

    Great toothbrush
My battery operated Sonicare finally gave out after 10 years, so I decided on this model. I don't need all the bells and whistles - this model was a great value and has everything I need. It doesn't tip over, it stops after 2 minutes, no batteries to worry about and the usual high quality of a Sonicare. I would definitely recommend purchasing the Sonicare Essence.

Love my Sonicare, just ONE complaint
This is my 3rd Sonicare. Unfortunately my two previous ones fell victim to being dropped on a stone tiled bathroom floor. Before i started using a Sonicare, i had serious periodontal problems. My gums were in horrible shape and there was bone loss in several areas. After 6 months with the Sonicare, my gums were healthier than they'd been in decades and the bone loss stopped. My ONLY complaint is the shape of the brush handle. As i brush, the vibrations, along with wet toothpaste suds, cause the Sonicare to slide from my grip and i have to re position my grip on the device. Having to stop midway through brushing to reposition my grip has been the cause of dropping it on the floor where the housing cracked. While there are 'grippy' strips, it's been my experience that once those are wet and sudsy from toothpaste, the combination of slippery and vibrating renders the grip strips of little use. Naturally it's always a month or two after the warranty expires and the cost of replacing the battery is as much as buying a whole new device. Instead of a grip that is the same size all the way up, could you consider maybe graduating it so it's larger near the head and narrower near the bottom? I think this could help relieve some of the sliding. Someone suggested positioning my pinky finger at the base to prevent slipping, but the arthritis in my hands won't allow this. I have to make some serious decision as to whether or not i will purchase another Sonicare product when I drop this one. But i'm hoping 3rd time's the charm.

Not as good as my previous Sonicare
My previous Sonicare gave a "tone" every 30 seconds to let me know to switch quadrants of my teeth. The only model I could find with this feature required me to buy two Sonicare brushes. Since I'm the only one in my household, why would I need to spend nearly double the price to get what I wanted. Also, because of the design, this one isn't nearly as easy to clean as my previous Sonicare which let me easily pull off the brush head piece and wash it. Overall, the "improved" model is really a step, or two backward. Too bad.

    Keeps the dentist away!
Works great to keep my teeth and gums healthy! Have not had any cavities or issues at the dentist in the 2 years I've been using this. I honestly don't know why the other, more expensive models exist.
