Great odour control
I find Tidy Cats Light weight is a really good litter when it comes to smell, absorption, pouring and I don't struggle as much when filling the litter pan. Only downside I have found is the amount if dust in the air when pouring and scooping. Otherwise, a very good litter.

24/7 frustration
I'm socked at this litter. How can anyone use this? How did this pass their testing at Purina? Once this litter gets wet, it turns into sludge. It's basically just sludge that you've sprayed perfume onto. It's stay wet for over 24 hrs. So you can imagine how that is bad and horrible for the cat owner. They step in this sludge and then step on the dry litter that coats it and then they walk around with this mess flaking off everywhere.
The clumps are very weak and brittle too.
I will say two positive things about this though. It's obviously lightweight and it actually has amazing oder control. I have 5 cats and you'd never know that by scent alone. However I threw this away after only having it in the box for less than a week. Never again

Makes transporting from downstairs to upstairs and box refills effortless! BUT unfortunately, my cats are used to the traditional heavier clumping litter and weren't big fans. My two 13 year old cats refused to use the box with trial litter but my 4 year old was game to be my tester. The texture feels comparable to mini styrofoam beads so it made it tougher to "properly cover/bury". I think my older cats prefer the feel of the course sand they're used to instead...aBow711

When I saw that there was a lightweight version, I decided to try it. My cat accepted the change with no problems. This is not dust-free, but no more dust than the litter I was using. The clumps seem to hold together better than the previous stuff. And it appears that a bucket of the light weight litter will last as long as a bucket of the heavier stuff.Therese

I had heard from others that Tidy Cat is a good brand. Will never buy their brand again. The cat box looks like it exploded. We use a high-sided, top-entry box with a lid and there is litter everywhere- on the furniture and the floor, along with the paw prints. We've never had that happen with any other brand. The clumps look like they were very runny before drying. I simple would not recommend this for any cat owner.Echo Grace
