Great gate
I purchased this gate to use to keep my min pin off my carpet when she is home alone and at night. I knew this gate was going to be too large for the opening that I needed to for but I was looking to also use it in the future as a fireplace guard if I get any more grand babies. Plus I can take it camping and use it as a play yard if needed. It can also be taken apart to use as a smaller gate but I don't mind just leaving it folded on one end.

Poor package and broken item
I was shocked to find a bunch of broken pieces and not a usable product: This is my second time trying to by this gate for my little one and I'm so disappointed that every time I open a package from regalo it's broken!

    Low quality parts
    The gate broke after 3 months of usage. The part broke and apparently the warranty is only 90 days. I should have read the warranty on the page. Makes sense as these are low quality parts and they make money in shipping a replacement part (cost of part shipping). The part of the gate has a small opening and i had to tape it up not to let my kid get stuck. The other flaw I noticed is the gate never stays in place not matter how much you tighten. The only thing I liked is it is an easy operation and set up is not bad. I do not recommend investing in gate with low quality parts and risk of kid getting stuck.

    LOVE IT...but my dog doesn't!
    I bought it with some reservation as I read some negative reviews about how the round fasteners break easily and another review about how customer service had to be contacted to get an end fastener because they removed some of the panels. Anyway, this is the BEST purchase I've made at WalMart so far (and I shop there weekly if not more!) I needed something around 105 inches to lock my dog in a spare room while I am at work during this hot summer (she can't stay outside/or in the garage). I removed some of the panels and at first had trouble with fastening to the wall where the end panels were removed but then I figured it out. It works great at keeping her in. It's high enough so she can't jump out or squeeze through the sides. Love it, love it!

    Very poor packaging for the item's size and weight
    The item appears to be pretty solid (luckily) and was incredibly easy to set up, despite losing most of the mounting hardware in shipping. The gate locking mechanism is very basic and the design could use some fine tuning where the spring loaded sleeve slips over the metal locking lever. Overall I would rate the hardware 4 stars (possibly higher given that the gate appears to be undamaged from the amount of abuse it took due to the packaging and shipping issue). I still haven't confirmed if any of the plastic hinges and parts are damaged. My most negative criticism is related to the packaging, or the lack of. Now, yes, blame could be directed at the delivery service; however, let's be fair. Items are handled haphazardly in shipping and will take abuse. This is the reason they are packaged so carefully. The item should be packaged accordingly as to prevent damage to the product and loss of the contents of the packaging. Every aspect of the packaging of this product failed my expectations. Half of the tape failed and the ends of the box were nearly open. The cardboard was heavily damaged and there were multiple openings in the box where the contents could fall out. The styrofoam on the corners was destroyed. And the plastic baggie for the hardware was empty and torn. For example; I ordered a different brand gate that I received yesterday and it was delivered the same way. The packaging was of a much heavier construction and the internal packaging was a lot stronger. The other company used cardboard zip tied in each corner to properly support the product and prevent movement and shock damage. The mounting hardware was zip tied to the gate in a similar fashion, but it was in a much higher quality, thicker, bag that easily contained the hardware and prevented the hardware from ripping through the bag. The small dope dealer ziploc baggie used on this product was torn in multiple places, one being across the entire width of the bag. It was completely empty and what screws were left were on my tile floor at my front door. Given the size and weight of the item, the packaging should be a lot stronger. Almost every corner of the box was torn open or damaged. Half of the tape holding the ends shut was coming loose. All of the styrofoam corners were damaged and broken in several pieces, there was even a small metal fragment embedded in one of the styrofoam pieces (not sure what it came from). Quite frankly, I am amazed the gate itself wasn't damaged. I ordered this online and it looked like it had been fired out of a cannon by the time I got it. Some of the mounting hardware is missing, the few screws that were left were falling out of the box while i brought it in the house.

    We had a large opening that needed to be closed when we left our three dogs in the house by theirselves. This opening was way too large for normal gates so this worked out perfectly.

    great for corralling kids and pets
    I have a 11 month old baby boy and a cavalier King Charles spaniel they need their space- this gives it to them- separation but close to each other. sounds stupid but it works- divide my office in two so baby was safe from danger but still with us in same room. buying another for the kitchen/living room area.
