Used for Boating Safety Course
I bought this anchor for use in the United States Power Squadron's America's Boating Course to demonstrate the type of anchor that boaters may want on their boat. The anchor is small and appropriate for smaller boats, but Walmart has a full range of sizes of this and other types of anchors. The anchor is well made and sturdy. This type of anchor folds flat for storage on a boat.

Weight is about 9 pounds off lol
I don't know what kind of scale they are using but we ordered the 13 pnd anchor. when it came, we could clearly tell it was not 13 pnds so we weighed it. It's barely FIVE pounds. I went online just to double check that I did indeed order the 13# and it says it clear as day. Needless to say, this is not going to work for us. This wouldn't even hold a 13 # boat lol

You get what you pay for.
While it held the 28' boat the anchor"teeth" and rod became bent after pulling it up the 2nd time I used it. While I was able to stand on it to straighten out the "teeth" the rod remained bent. I am returning it. Need stronger material that is not so flexible..

    Good and Bad
I believe the size chart for these anchors are off a bit. I ordered the next size up for my 15 foot boat and this anchor although well made is too light. Had it in the river by Pittsburg, Ca and it is just too light.

    well pleased
Understand that this is an anchor for use on a small boat so it is never going to be subjected to lots of strains, etc. The welds look ok and the galvanizing appears to be thick and covers everything well. It is small enough to store on a small boat which is what I really wanted. I am well pleased with the speed of delivery, the quality of the product, and the price. Just understand it is for a smaller boat.

    Great Anchor, weird shipping
The anchor worked great for the time I had it. My only complaint was the packaging it arrived in. They wrapped brown paper around the anchor once and the wrapped it in shrink wrap about 8 times and threw a shipping label on it. Was a pain to unwrap even with a box cutter to help.

    Cheap but effective.
This is lighter than I'd like, flukes could be heavier and sturdier but it seems to work ok. We have mostly clay bottoms and you may have to work to get it to "set" but when it does it holds. You also have to work at it to get it "unset" but it will. If you use a shackle chain it's easier to get the slip part to slide to work the release. Be sure to give yourself room to work and enough anchor rope. I suspect it'd bend in bad rocks but that might be better than leaving it on the bottom. I bought two for days I don't want to blow (swing) around the lake here in windy Oklahoma. It's more work getting them down but once they're set you can adjust your wind presentation angle with the anchor lines.

    Not as advertised
The anchor I ordered was listed as 13 lbs, It IS NOT 13 lbs. This anchor (41630) weighs 8lbs. It seems kinda small but I'm hoping it will work for my boat so I plan to keep it. There is a number 13 on the anchor but that apparently is a size designation, the ad specifically says 13 lbs, there isn't even an option for 8 lbs. Otherwise it seems like a good anchor.
