Best ratio quality/cost in the market
This combo became my favourite rod for small to medium size fishing, it is pretty much stronger than it looks to, and so easy to carry. Shakespeare is myfavourite for fishing, I dont belive expensive gear make you a better angler.

Bought this 3 weeks ago, as a second and it is just awful!!! the line constantly tangles under the reel and I could only use it once!!! my husband has an ugly stick which I love, and use constantly. This was definitely a waste of money....

Fishing Class for Middle School students
We purchased several of these combos for a fishing club at a middle school. They worked great and the tackle box allows the students to see the variety of baits that can be used. They caught a lot of fish on them to include a 6-pound bass.

    Shakespeare fishing pole
I wanted a inexpensive telescopic fishing pole so I looked at this one and it's pretty good for what I wanted, one I could put in my console in my truck so that if wanted to stop somewhere and fish I could. I wouldn't use it to fish a tournament, but it works well to fish a pond or lake I might pass going somewhere. The reel is average and the rod is pretty durable, so if you want a fishing pole that you can put under a vehicle seat I would recommend this one!

    Awesome power
Used this Shakespeare Saltwater Spinning Combo and was amazed at the smooth action of this reel, even in the harsh saltwater condition's of the Gulf of Mexico [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

    Fantastic little ultralight!
Bought this at a Walmart a few miles away from my house on clearance for $25 even. I glanced at it several times before I actually returned to purchase it a few weeks later. I was looking at ultralight combos because I wanted a longer one to cast spinners and ultralight crankbaits with. Finally had my choices narrowed down to 3 combos and immediately came to this one because the other 2 were roughly $35-40 and did not come with any extra tackle. Great deal, you get a strong yet sensitive 5 foot 6 inch ultralight rod with a nice little reel. The tackle consists of a stringer, an eight-compartment tackle box, a 3/4 ounce egg sinker, 5 barrel swivels, 5 snap swivels, 4 bobbers, 2 inline spinners, about 10 split shots, 10 size 8 trout hooks, and some tiny, like size 18 treble hooks for the Rainbow Powerbait that is included. I will say, for the price I paid I am satisfied.

    Great Rod and Reel
Took to Galveston Bay last Saturday and caught my entire days bait for me and two others. Like the telescoping pole makes for easy storage.
