    Awesome panfish combo.
Most sensitive rod tip Ive ever owned. I catch more fish with this pole because my reaction to the lite bites is quicker. Excellent panfish set up. And it shipped FedEx so I didnt have to wait weeks on the USPS and hope they didnt loose or damage it

Definitely not a winter fishing setup. Generic Rod
This was a OK setup, got the job done the day of fishing when i needed it i suppose but as far as long term use goes, this thing is kinda generic, I expected more for the price... The rod broke completely in half while setting the hook on a 10 inch crappie on the 3rd fishing trip with this combo.. That shouldn't happen... I saved the reel and put it on a Mitchel rod to atleast use the reel, made a nice setup... Took it ice fishing today for crappie and the reel is very stif to reel in when being used in cold weather. I keep my reels lubricated regularly including this one, but its definitely not dezined for cold weather crappie fishing. Make a great gift for the kids i guess.

    CITATION CRAPPIE PRODUCER!!
I purchased my Shakespeare CrappieHunter Spinning Combo in February, 2016 and on my first fishing trip using the combo, I caught a 2.8 lb. citation crappie!! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

    great for spider rigging
I own 4 crappie hunters 2 are 9 ft and 2 are 10 ft I used them for spider rigging in crappie tournaments and they did all i aksed for ... easy to see even light bits and enough baqckbone to pull out the bigger fish including some small bass that were by catch . They also work well for vertical jigging and casting small jigs .

    No manual, no information
I just bought this and the line is up inside the inner metal thingie (not the removeable cover) and there seems to be no way to remove the metal thingie. I have fished for 40 years, and every reel I've owned has provided some simple way to get the line out from underneith the cowl, but this reel has vexed me to no end. Plus, there are absolutely no instructions on the Shakespeare site or that came with the set to show me how to make what should be a 5 minute repair.

    very good crappie rod combo
I am a professional fishing guide and this year put 3 of these in my guide boat. The combo is perfectly balanced, casts very well, very light weight, and handles even bigger game fish exceptional. I do not think you will find a better 9' crappie/panfish rod for twice the price

    Love the casting leverage
I always loved fishing from the shore with light tackle and low test line(4lb.). This rod allows for a long cast and helps with landing the "big" ones because of its added flex due to the length of it. You can also use it as a fly rod if you rig the right way making it very versatile.
