We bought the pitchin stik with the 6 LB line on it a few days before mothers day 2019. The day before mothers day my 14 year old grandaughter and I were fishing in my BassTender 10.2 boat on the tallapoosa river in Wedowee Al. I put a crawdad lure on the pitchin stik for her to use. In a little while she told me she was hung on something and then shouted she had a fish. She started reeling it in and the drag was too light and so I reached over and tightened it more. The pole then bent nearly in a 180 degree bend as she strained to reel in the fish. I then thought she was hung on something for sure. Then the boat started being pulled around some. She fought the fish for a few minutes and I had the net ready for what ever she brought up. Then the fish rolled broke the water about a foot from the boat and I got the net under it fast and got it into the boat. To my surprise it was a very large cat fish the she had caught with the lure. I had caught one early that morning on a rattle trap in the same area.I had never heard of them biting a lure. Here are a few pictures of us and her fish. I didn't think to get a measurement or weight but I would guess over 10 pounds. Its was a big thrill for her and I. Thanks for making a great little rod. sincerly, PaPa Joe

2.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser09/04/2021Worthless ReelThe rod itself could possibly be okay, if you replace the reel that comes with this combo. The gear ratio is absolutely HORRIBLE. Reeling the smallest catch reminds me of riding on an exercise bike. You're getting nowhere, no matter how fast you go.Patty

Will never go full length rod ever again. fits easily in trunk. Easily deployable when you see a nice pond or lake. (BOOM) Hits galore, and this stik can pull them all in... Nuf said! (pic)JP123

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser08/04/2019A good rodIt is very flexible tip to hook fish quickly. It is also strong and stands up to snags. The line is strong for 6 lbs and invisible in the water. The Dock Demon which is a similar rod, is stiffer and slower to hook fish.Seattle5665

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser03/07/2019Great for toddlers, young kids.I bought this for my 2-year-old. He loves it and is able to do it himself, and at $8 and change I really won't be too heartbroken if he threw it in the water while casting. It's been about a year since I purchased it, still works like it did brand new.MUAKWI

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser06/25/2018worked beyond expectations!Just purchased this little combo and caught several largemouth bass. 3,4 and a 5 pounder were some of them. The drag worked flawlessly and casts far as well! A heap of fun for such a small price. Well done Shakespeare!.Big D
