ugly stick medium heavy
I own 6 of these rods , you can not beat them weather a seasoned angler or a beginner these rods easily handle stripped bass, weak fish , fluke what ever your after this is a great light tackle rod. you can throw buck tails , lead head jigs and swimmers with no problem I would not recommend this rod for poppers or top water walk the dog lures. its also not bad for dead stick bait fishing. pick this rod up and it will last you for years just remember a fresh water rinse after each outing.my favorite rod is the 6`6" or 7 ft medium heavy . tight lines

    Tough as nails
Been fishing inshore saltwater for the past 30 years and been through may different spinning rods. Many broken by my neglect and a few by redfish with an attitude. But I have NEVER broken an Ugly Stik and my oldest rod is a well used Intercoastal Ugly Stick that I have owned since they first came out. The Intercoastal is not as lightweight or as pretty as some of my other rods but it is inexpensive and indestructible. Dollar for dollar the best deal out there.

A backbone that has exceptional flex
I use my Intercoastal 7' UG for sea trout, Snapper, and other smaller fish, but don't let that fool you...its strong enough to handle slot-sized Reds and most black drum I hook into. The price is right, and it has enough backbone to get a good hook set, and plenty of strength for the fight. Pair this rod with a medium spinning reel, 10-15lb line...and let the fun begin!

    Excellent!
This is typical Ugly Stik high quality with the difference that this model has a cork base, which I like. The eyes are particularly impressive. I don't know what they're made of, but they are beautifully shaped, smooth as glass, and appear corrosion resistant. Like other Ugly Stiks, the Intercoastal offers good value for the price. Of course, this rod has only been used once so far, but that was a good experience.

    Great rod for the money
This is a very stroong and durable rod. Yet it is also quite sensitive and has a good feel. I use it with a 5000 series reel. It is perfect for larger game fish such as tarpon and snook. I have a 6'6" model as well that I use with a smaller 3000 series reel as well. This 7' model really throws a lure a good distance and is long enough to allow for bigger fish to be brought in.

    Overbuilt
Can't be beat for the price. Fuji guides and seat, cork handle. No brainier between this and a $100+ lamiglas.

    Ugly Stik
This is my second Ugly Stik. This one is a little longer. Still using the first rod. I really like them. Good sensitivity and light weight. Not a surf rod for 3 once weights but good for a little more distance just off the beach.
