5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser02/27/2021charter customer tuffuse these exclusively on my charter boats for 30 years. From kingfish to redfish. In Jacksonville Florida. I own 20 of these tiger rods, alone. Not to forget the other 30 Ugly Stiks, I have. Exclusively reviewed them all on Youtube, as PROOF.JETTYWOLF

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser07/06/2019GREAT MULTIPSECIES RODHi. This is a great rod. I've used many name brands over the years but keep coming back to Shakespeare Ugly Sticks. I especially like the new Ugly Tuff guides. I've had several rods (even expensive ones) from different manufactures over the years pop out guide inserts and it really jacks up your fishing for the day much less having to get a new guide installed. These guides really are tuff and show zero line wear despite using them for surf fishing from the beach with both mono and braid and having sand and salt on the lines. This rod has a very nice tip that gives good sensitivity and flexibility to allow casting live or chunk bait without slinging the bait off your hook. I have mine paired with an Abu Catfish Special 6500 and an Abu Black Rocket 6500 and they both cast a mile with 1 to 3 ounce total weight (bait and sinker). So far I've caught small sharks, big catfish, pompano and several other species of fish and this rod outperforms bigger rods on the beach both in distance and fishing enjoyment. Do yourself a favor and get one. You'll be glad you did. BTW I don't get anything from Shakespeare or any one else. Just thought I might save some fellow anglers some time making a decision. Good luck and tight lines!Beach Ranger

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser07/16/2018A must have rod!The 7' med/hev has been a fantastic addition to my saltwater gear. I paired it up with a Penn 310GTI that was a gift to me. The quality of construction is outstanding, so far it has handled everything on the end of the line.Matt Fludd

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser07/15/2017Long Lasting, Great RodI bought 12 of these rod 2 years ago to start Blue Water fishing and had great success. My friends Uncle bought 8 of these rods 40 years ago and he passed them down to my friend 2 years ago and they are in great shape. They were well used and taken care of and they performed just like my new ones to this daySweade

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser06/03/2017Great cat rodsThis is my second purchase of these rods. I have never broken one on a fish even though we have landed many Blue Cats in the 70s and 80s. The small handle of the down rigger rod fits right in my rod holders. The tip is light enough do detect the lightest strike with plenty of backbone to pull a big cat out of 60' of water. The new eyes are great and are my primary reason for replacement of my original set of tiger sticks.Mouse
