Incredibly Easy to Install
Great product. The installation instructions were outstanding and made things really easy for me. It seems these days that many installation instructions simply have bad illustrations, no words, and un-labeled parts. The NXT 50 is a pleasant exception--every part is labeled, the instructions are clear (with WORDS and photos). Very easy to put together!

    Received the goal well packed and with all parts. Instructions were very detailed and thorough. Watched the assemble video and understood the process. All parts seemed well made. Assembled the frame and wheels without difficulty. There was really only one way they could go together. First problem was the the ballast fit very poorly to the frame pre-drilled holes. They were misaligned by at least 1/2" and I had to ream out the plastic ballast holes with a rat tail file to get the bolts through it and into the frame holes. Finally got the ballast bolts through the four frame holes and finger tight. Installed the lower pole piece and bolted it to the frame. The pole flanges are welded and pre-drilled and can only fit on the frame one way. When I then tried to attached the pole support bars the holes in the pole would not line up with the predrilled holes in the support bars. No matter how I pushed things, the holes in the supports were about 1-2 inches too long to line up with the matching holes in the lower pole. Reviewed my assembly, watched another assemble video, loosened all the frame bolts and pushed everything as far as it could go to make the distance from the front frame holes to the pole holes as long as possible. Even without the ballast on, the support poles were still too long to match up with the pre-drilled post holes. Called customer support and as told to send a detailed email. Did so and was promptly replied to but without any meaningful response as to what I might be doing wrong or what might be wrong with my parts. The decided to send me two new post supports which arrived a few days later and were, of course, exactly the same as what I already had. When I informed customer service of this they had no other suggestions and we mutually agreed to my returning it. All I had to do was load up all 300 pounds of the this bulky thing and return it to customer service where I finally got a refund. My only theory is that perhaps the frame pieces were for a different model portable back board. I had several other people look at the instructions and assembly and they concurred it can really only go together one way and that I had followed the directions exactly.

    Buy it. Great Hoop. Ignore the 90-min assembly guarantee
    Absolutely love the basketball hoop. Looks great, great responsive rim, sturdy enough to give you a great experience especially for a portable. My only complain was assembly, which was somewhat self-inflicted pain. The instructions call this a 90-minute installation and assembly... As a very handy individual, i can say that there is absolutely no way this is a 90-minute project. I completed it in close to 3 hours with very minimal help. Steps 1-12 were 90 minutes alone, as they require a lot of aligning heavy components' holes and feeding bolts through that require tightening both on the top and bottom of the base simultaneously - would absolutely be feasible if i had two hands to hold up the base, two hands to secure the top and two hands to tighten the bolts. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. All in all, with a few band-aids and some tantrums along the way, it's installed on my driveway and my kids love it. Last thing worth noting. From the time i ordered to receive was about 7 days. Great considering it came on freight. Escalade covered the shipping which was awesome - just wish there was some sort of confirmation from the time you buy it until the time you hear from the freight company to schedule delivery several days later.

    So we had been looking for a basketball hoop for weeks. As you know hoops are hard to come by, so we were fortunate to find this one. My 8yr old son loves it. The instructions were super easy to follow. It did take me much longer than 90 minutes to put together. In fact it took me closer to 6 hrs. But I did make some mistakes along the way and I had to find all the different ratchet sizes that I needed. Considering this was th first time putting something like this together it went well. It is very sturdy and I like how easy it is to adjust the height of the court. I also like the fact that I don't need sandbags and you can just fill it with water. I wish you could see inside the base easier to make sure you only fill it to 75%. Other than that, no complaints. We play on it everyday and we love it. I think the quality is much better than some of my neighbors hoops. Other brands tend to wobble, or the rim is not very sturdy, but not with this one. Fingers crossed. I'm glad we bought it. The shipping was pretty fast, it came in about a week or so. My suggestion is to layout all of the parts and make sure you have all your tools before hand. Good luck

    Great option compared to other brands
    Perfect option for my 9 and 12 year old boys. The love how sturdy the hoop is and how the ball comes off the rim and backboard compared to some less expensive alternatives. Any extra cost, which is fairly negligible, is well worth it just for the ease of assembly. Make sure you have a 3/8ths metric ratchet, extension bar, and box wrenches. I would suggest a 2nd person to help with some aspects of assembly and I can't recall if the instructions suggest this tool or not, but the bolts on the articulating portion of the assembly are much easier to secure with a deep socket (I think it was 19mm) bit.

    This is a great hoop. We live in a windy area that our old basketball hoop would blow over. So far we've had no issues and concerns about this hoop blowing over. The only downside is that the ball kicks off the bars or the front of the base. I'm sure we'll come up with a solution for this problem.

    We love this hoop! Great value + Great instructions.
    Assembled this w/the help of my 2 young daughters (7, 11) in an afternoon. Its great. Good looking hoop and very sturdy for a portable setup. Easy enough to move around + easy to adjust height. Highly recommend. Also very happy with shipping - came quickly and professionally delivered into my garage. Would have liked more communication after purchase and before shipping company called, but all in all VERY happy and highly recommend dealing with Escalade and highly recommend this portable hoop.

    Excellent hoop
    Well built basketball hoop. Put it together in about 2 hours by myself. The packaging, directions, and organization of the hardware was excellent. Finished hoop is easy to adjust and very sturdy. Used 16"" spiral ground anchors and ratchet straps (as seen on YouTube) to give it some extra stability. The hoop is going nowhere. Definitely a good buy. The kids love it!

    It was pretty easy to assemble, as I was able to assemble by myself in a couple of hours. It is easy to change the height (my 7 year old is able to adjust by himself). I am also able to move it around by myself.
