Amazing!!
I bought this, the backboard is very stable!!! and an amazing hoop - the ball bounces of very well - and you can dunk - but not hang!

I bought this hoop a year ago and I am disappointed. The backboard broke. This is the second time using this model the first one broke after 8 years of service. This one I feel was defective . Did not last

    2 issues; 1 of the caps came cracked so the water leaks even though I tried to patch it with sealant. The other, far more dangerous is that one of the supports will not screw into the wheel base. The entire mechanism is being held up by one support strut (part #2) rendering the entire system unusable!!! My son is so disappointed after spending hours and hours assembling it is completely worthless and must be disassembled and returned.....

    Cannot make it any cheaper
    I was a helper  this is the poorest product design I have ever seen .I helped a friend put it together twice because of defective bases and finally gave up on filling it with liquid they all leak does not.does not take a rocket scientist to figure out why . The stress point where the back post is set and mounted is weak and cracks easily .there is NO support in this are . Also the cheap plastic  handle to raise the backboard was cracked before we ever took it out of the box .looks like somebody tighten the screws and cracked the handle .

    Great overall goal, but...
    Great overall goal, but it was missing the two push nuts and the plastic front panel did not fit the base struts. The plastic front panel is decorative so we left it off the goal. Having said all of that we would buy it again! Once it's up you can rate it 5 stars. My husband is very handy and luckily had nuts to replace the missing parts. It still took him about 4 hours working by himself to assemble the goal and I can see if you were not gifted in the assembly department, putting the goal together could be overwhelming.

    Some what satisfied
    I bought this goal for my son a little over a month ago. We love playing together on it, but that is because we enjoy our time together. To get to the goal itself; assembly was pretty simple (I put it together by myself), the height adjustment system is extremely easy to operate, and the overall performance of the goal is good. One problem we are having is the rim has a lot of bounce to it and sometimes gets stuck at about a 45-70 degree upward angle. The backboard seemed to be really flimsy before installation, but seems fine now that it is all together. Overall the goal is good, but it seems over priced compared to the other Spalding goal I purchased at a retail store previously.

    Missing parts
    Took a long time to assemble. Especially since 5 pieces were missing and I had to call and order them....took at least a week if not 10 days to get replacement parts. Then I realized i was still missing a partz, but instead of reordering and waiting again, I manufactured a piece from the unused, extra pieces that came with the goal. Overall the goal is good. I would say the 90 degree piece that extends from base to pole is a nuissance since the ball goes thru the net and down to hit it....thus causing the ball to shoot out rapidly toward the freethrow line. Great for shooting freethrows...terrible for every other shot.

    Beware, acrylic comes loose!
    Bought this a little over a year ago and today I noticed that the acrylic sheet has come loose from the steel frame. I guess they epoxy it or something because it doesn't have any screws in it. I guess i'll have to drill it and put screws in to hold it together. Very disappointing. It could be a great product if they would find a better way to attach the acrylic.

    Pole missing
    We purchased this for our 12 year old son for Christmas. We got a wonderful price on it and it was exactly what he wanted. My husband started putting it together and the pole was missing. We had a very upset boy on Christmas morning. The package didn't look tampered with or like anyone had gotten into it. I'm guessing that it was just left out when packaging. I can't give a fair review because we returned it due to being bought online and purchased another. Make certain all the parts are there if you purchase.
