Not the Mad Libs I remember
I bought this book for some entertainment on a long road trip. Our eight-year-old son got a lot of giggles out of it, and some good grammar testing (getting really good at thinking up nouns, adjectives, etc). But the story "skeletons" are awfully lame, and really kind of reaching. I was born in the 70s, and a child of the 80s, and Mad Libs were *hilarious* when I was a kid. Maybe they've always been this weak, but my husband and I were cringing at the apparent lack of creativity in the stories. Yes, I understand it's up to the user to come up with fillers for the stories, but even kid-friendly potty humor didn't make these very funny. Kids who like Star Wars will probably not care, but as a grown-up, don't expect too much.
